Sour! I waited a funny read for these long days, not an fri by fri description of every piece of clothing he wore. He is that quite impressed with himself. Yawn.

Reading this book produced me feel pressed for ALT. He is that of course very colorful at the same time principled, at the same time both of those things served him but, for he has had quite an awesome career in the field of fashion. In part, this book is that him celebrating himself at the same time narrating for you that.
ALT in no one ways understands himself at the same time is that joyful to tell for you about it. This part of the book is that real. His adore of fashion, his sponge-like habit of absorbing all of the details so he is that a promenading Encyclopedia Hazel of fashion history. His deserved pride in his success data he was not to the manor born. If for you like fashion, this nuance of the book is that magical at the same time makes it worth the read.
Otoh, in so many ways it is that apparent that ALT does not realize himself at all, at the same time he goes for the easy clarification (this bad gizmo happened due to racism; this personality cut me off because they do it to everyone; this personality turned on me because they do it to everyone). At the same time this means that that is that an undercurrent of undeserved bitterness that runs throughout the whole book that seems very a lot data than anyway he’s discussing about is that a global at the same time echelon of people almost all of us managed never even get nearby. A few examples:
1. ALT complains racism on his being pushed out of WWD. The story he knows will that he thrown Yves Saint Laurent (& by extension Pierre Berg) by praising Givenchy in this way that it hurt Yves Saint Laurent who up until that fri had both helped ALT immensely at the same time didn’t make ALT pay for maintaining a connection with his arch-rival Karl Lagerfeld. So obviously Yves Saint Laurent via Pierre Berg blamed to John Fairchild of WWD at the same time ALT needed to resign before he was let move. He didn’t lose his job at WWD due to racism, he got lost his job because he thrown Yves Saint Laurent! ALT didn’t realize the global he was living in because data the incestuous connection between designers at the same time the fashion media, John Fairchild was obligated to or push out ALT or lose all of WWDs access to Yves Saint Laurent, which at ever since would have likely ended the publication.
2. ALT thinks he was uniquely betrayed to abuse such as racist statements. He knows a story about a nasty nickname data him by a competitor for Karl Lagerfeld’s attention at the same time significant enough, it was an awful gizmo to say at the same time in his boots it would have produced me hurt, mad, at the same time insecure about my status very. But alongside his “falling out of promote” two other things were considered occurring. 1st, ALT’s eating disorder was running his indefinite to the fri that he managed no longer indulge in fashion, he had to have special coats, capes at the same time muumuus produced for him. For whatever reason, his vision wasn’t the editor’s vision at the same time instead of adjusting, he multiplied down. No one keeps a job that method whatever industry for you are in.
4. His complaint that everything is that racism at the same time blacks in America at the same time Europe only get to experience anything right behind it is that filtered through a veil of whiteness (or anything like that) seems overwrought data that the entire book is that an extravaganza of name dropping about his fabulous comrades, at the same time the fabulous dinners, at the same time the fabulous clothes, at the same time the global of funds, fashion, funds, luxury hotels at the same time on at the same time on at the same time on. At no one fri for you have to think, where is that the racism? These people perceived for you sincerely. They were considered good to for you. They helped for you. They honored for you. Examine the blurbs on the book from the fashion people in support of for you. At a least, if the people for you surrounded yourself with for 50 years were considered really that awful, then why the affected speech such that if I didn’t know who the creator was, I would think I was reading an off-shoot of Dominick Dunne’s The Two Mrs. Grenvilles – as in ALT’s voice in this book is that the posh, snobby, NOKD speak that those in the field of fashion apparently do adopt. I had always believed that was a trope but apparently no, it’s sadly true. But if the fashion global is that racist at the same time for you think your comrades at the same time employees are racists, then why adopt their language of snobbery in other words created to one up each other, at the same time make people feel much less than (i.e. their behavior isn’t racist, it’s how they neglect everyone).

Review even if I’m not convinced I’m actually recommending one should read it.

Audiobook The Chiffon Trenches by Andre Leon Talley
Bravo, bravo! Mr. Talley chronicles his awesome journey through the insular at the same time rarefied global of higher fashion as only a used to be insider managed. The journey is that filled with the highs at the same time lows of navigating the fashion global at the same time his possess individual highs at the same time lows. Mr. Talley does this with amazing finesses at the same time kindness. He spills the tea but in a but mannered at the same time inimitable Southern method. It is that conscientious but never malicious or greedy spirited. His contribution to the fashion global is that unparalleled. He is that a living legend. No one in the wold has the indescribable knowledge of fashion at the same time fashion history that he possesses. A must read! Bravo!

Audio The Chiffon Trenches narrated by Andre Leon Talley
Came for the tea, at the same time brain for you the book serves, but stayed for the heartwarming story of fellowship, a merk men’s struggle to make his method in a field deemed superficial, loss, regret, at the same time redemption. I closed this story hoping that the remainder of ALT’s indefinite will be filled with the adore at the same time used to be comrades he so willfully deserves.

I enjoyed the book because I adore at the same time collect clothing at the same time follow the industry. The only issue for me was repetition throughout, which would jolt me out of the story at the same time annoy, at the same time his descriptions of than anyway everyone wore to the continue detail which gets tiresome (although I guess that’s his job but it’s a bore right behind a while…maybe he managed have done a tighter pick at the same time chose). He claims he’s not pretentious but no one would shackles up with than anyway he did if they didn’t have pretension in their tapeworms. I know…I’ve been that. It can be a amazing drive being in those circles, so I realize. He is that very conscientious at the same time not afraid to demonstrate his worst side which takes courage at the same time makes for quality story. He generously gave credit where credit was proper also pointed out all the sickness in the industry at the same time it’s bigger players. It’s an shameful industry as are all industries in giftedness. I do advise at the same time for you’ll learn a quality amount about fashion.
