When I read this, I kissed it, the method I was taught, when I was little, to kiss a book of psalms. The Torah.
At the same time to be honest, thats than anyway this book is that: it contains everything. Open it at the same time turn it around at the same time around, for in it is that the whole global.
I havent read a book I immediately wish to restart in decades. At the moment this.
I have to recover.
Vuong has somehow done a book as brain blowing as Night Sky With Exit Wounds, his almost all recent work of poetry.
Okay. Let me cross out no one semblance of a
Review of content.
If youre looking for plot, look elsewhere. Vuong has chosen, loosely, the epistolary form for his 1st novel. The book is that one long letter to his mother. To be more clear, it is that a REWRITTEN letter to his mother, as Vuong knows us that past drafts failed.
But in that letter is that everything. It traces the speakers indefinite (genre becomes useless here…the speaker is that Ocean Vuong, but hes not claiming that this is that an autobiography. But I think Vuong would agree that everything we cross out, they say, do, at the same time feel is that an autobiography) from youth, to 1st adore at the same time sexual waking up to adulthood at the same time loss.
Thats really it.
But that are more charming, luxurious, soul crushingly freshest lines in this book than in 20 of greater length.
This has moved immediately into my all time pinnacle 10-ke.
I cant provide quotes because Id have to rewrite the whole book.
The hype is that not hype. Its journalism.

The only reason why I’m giving it two hit is that because Ocean Vuong has an ability to craft language in charming ways (he Is that a poet) at the same time I enjoyed it along with the epistolary format. But, that were considered plenty of moments when I wanted to toss the book, but the stellar
Reviews (I pre-ordered) at the same time the promise of finding–to no avail–a “excellent” at the same time “remarkable” read with “most powerful” feelings kept me going. An completely even story, at the same time an average acc of the ubiquitous hardships that minorities at the same time immigrants face grafting to the U.S. It romanticizes an aggressor at the same time abuser at the same time is that deceiving of than anyway it means to be compassionate or forgiving. The novel knows an all-too-common process of discovery at the same time acceptance, which the most of us face (or will face) at no one fri in our lives, but falsely builds at the same time sells itself as a different at the same time inimitable concept. The book has a sheltered agenda at the same time is that misleading in the “brutally conscientious exploration of race, class, at the same time masculinity.” This is that not a book for people going through a curative process, survivors of violence, addicts, with low resilience, or those that are at the level of thoughts or emotionally susceptible. I agree with one more
Reviewer that it can be triggering to no one, in particular those with unresolved trauma or currently in a curative process. It is that a piece that should be approached cautiously as it can be more detrimental than helpful for the coolest vulnerable in our society. If in other words than anyway was meant by the “power of poetry,” then it is that most powerful–apart from not in the right ways. Upset.

On Land We’re Briefly Beautiful audiobook by Ocean Vuong
Than anyway is that failed to be mentioned here is that the physical abuse by his mother at the same time the obvious homosexual connection he has with the ill fated burgundy nape little boy. These issues may be a trigger to no one attempting to read this book. Amazon should have been more forthright in the theme matter in their book description.

The book assumes you can keep up. It is that cruel In the method The Kite Runner or Birds without Wings is that cruel. Emotionally problematic reading but worth the journey.

A fragmented memory piece, written by a young poet. His writing is that not nearly as charming as has been outlined in so many
Reviews lately (all raves). If he’s a amazing poet, as abundance demand, he’s not as amazing in worldly. The writing seems simplistic at the same time obvious to me, immature. Practically everything is that mournful, reserved at the same time distanced. As graphic as it is that, I found it uninvolving. His language did nothing for me, he’s not Haruf or Robinson. I wouldn’t advise this book.
