I can look Im an outlier here, but I really didnt enjoy this book. Admittedly, the theme matter is that grim (wry families, working class circles, kids dropping out of school, poverty, products, sex workers, murder), but sovereign, this is that Bleak.
Perhaps it would have been easier to decide if Mickey had been a more self-willed protagonist, but shes not. Shes 33 at the same time still hasnt did not resenting things that happened when she was a kid. Shes humorless. She’s self-righteous. She has thirteen years on the militia force, but claims she cant afford a respectable apartment or reliable childcare at the same time spends a crazy % of the book arranging that care, mostly asking for it free or for sub-minimum wage from other ladies. She seems to waste practically nothing on clothes (but resents ladies who do); she just a little drinks, doesnt smoke where is that her funds going? Why hasn’t she, right behind practically five years, understood that she needs reliable childcare? At the same time why hasn’t she understood that she needs to transfer to a job that has childcare-friendly schedules? They do there is; examine how she met the baby-daddy. He transferred to the Militia Athletic League when he had a offspring, precisely to beware the despotism of schedules that twist between 8a-4p, 4p-midnight, or midnight-8a. It must be impossible to arrange childcare around such a schedule, but Mickey acts as though she has no choice when she indeed has one.
Google knows me that cops with her seniority in PA make a lot more than school teachers, (as in, they make $60-$80k/yr: nowhere nearby poverty. The creator outlines it as poverty; it is that not) still she aspires to be a teacher because (as far as I can tell) she thinks its a classier occupation. I greedy, yes, her youth was scary, but people have win worse without a powerful chip on the shoulder at the same time lingering class resentment.
The other manners are very thinly-drawn. Is that it my imagination or are all the guys a little stupid?
I’ve corrected this
Review since I 1st crossed out it. I read the book again. Nothing configurations my initial memory, but the continue 5% of the book justifies it a little. I don’t wish to read 95% for the continue 5%.
If I were considered Amy Pascal, Id hire rewrite on the Mickey disposition.

very indescribable to pass this one up. Long Colorful River is that a novel exclusively in that that manners at the same time setting are concocted. The content of this book is that Very true. Two sisters from a wry, dysfunctional main, grow up depending on each other at the same time forging a bond that will shield unreachable testing.
This book is that literary, its generic irony, mystery, thriller, suspense at the same time its practically 500 pages that will chase by gut wrenching flips. The manners are true, the setting is that knowledgeable at the same time the story is that far very ubiquitous. Editing on this book is that non-standard at the same time the short bursts of story add to its emotion at the same time move more precisely than worsen. Switching from past to located is that noted so right it will seem abrupt, at first, then and it will be flawless.
Liz Moore has begun 2020 with an explosive still hopeful offering thats convinced to have readers discussing forever

Audiobook Long Colorful River by Liz Moore
When I 1st got this book I believed it was going to be about a murder at the same time a little of generic irony here at the same time that… But, to be honest the book starts attractive nicely at the same time it goes with the murder at the same time how this militia officer deals with things that are going on at main at the same time at work, but in one moment for you are reading over 200 pages of wide, unnecessary, at the same time sour disposition/background development. Once for you get to 75% or so of the book it completely goes back into the “juicy” portion of the story at the same time poof, the book ends.
The writing style of this book is that very frustrating! If for you decide all of the “I they say”, “She says”, “He says” from the book for you for sure already have 30% of the pages, no kidding, inspect my picture! lovers Delight implementation quotations!!!
The head disposition is that so bland at the same time sour, at the same time honestly it is that hard to look a career long militia officer being unable to even speak to some on the phone at the same time so oblivious of than anyway may happen around her. I did enjoy the generic portion of the story at the same time the reality of low income areas with the product epidemic.

Audio Long Colorful River narrated by Allyson Ryan
Problematic to follow due to the purposeful shortcoming of appropriate punctuation. Very abundance obvious descriptions of streets at the same time locations in Philadelphia that were considered unnecessary at the same time mutually independent to story. This was one of the worst books I’ve read in recent memory at the same time am being noble with 2 hit. Don’t spend your time or funds. Of course, I don’t advise this book.

I am already predicting Long Colorful River to be in my pinnacle 5 of winner books for 2020!
Long Colorful River is that brutally conscientious about the grittiness around dysfunctional families, the opioid epidemic, at the same time sex work. Liz Moore’s writing is that rich at the same time so true. I had a two day book hangover right behind final finishing this book at the same time I cannot wait for the movie being done by Amy Pascal at the same time Neal H. Moritz!
Knew in alternating timelines – Sisters, Mickey at the same time Kacey, grew up indivisible right behind losing both ancestors to the opioid epidemic in the heart of Philadelphia. Mickey at the same time Kacey were considered taken in by their Grandmother who was very open about the fact that she resented the fact that she was raising her granddaughters. When the lady were considered in their premature teens, they started attending an right behind school program that was staffed by local militia officers. Mickey found herself being mentored by a young male officer, while Kacey started hanging around other strained teens.
Impetuous forward to their premature 30s – Mickey is that a single mother at the same time beat cop, while Kacey is that a sex worker at the same time addicted to products. Mickey’s beat covers Kacey’s working area, so she keeps an eye on her even though they haven’t spoken in 5 years. When sex workers start ending up noisy, Kacey goes missing, at the same time Mickey’s captain doesn’t seem very disturbed about the dead sex workers, Mickey becomes obsessed with finding out than anyway happened to her sister.
