I was actually dull to begin this book because I understood it was the continue one in the Kurt Wallander television series by the belated Henning Mankell. I’ve read all the other books in the television series plus a couple of his shield without the help of others books at the same time they are my winner criminal liability novels. Im dull to say that they are clear. The Strained Men is that not only badly written, its a very deplorable conclusion to the Wallander television series.
Its bad in so many ways, its hard to know where to start. Mankell commits the unusual writers sin of narrating instead of showing, at the same time does it over at the same time over. That are long narrative clarifications as disposition right behind disposition recite their stories about the head manners. At the same time those manners seem to pop up from the pages of the book without context or clarification. Wallander drives here, flies that, talks to people, names them, considers his mortality, pets his dog, all without the narrative move that animates Mankell earlier works. We get lots of assistance between Wallander at the same time his daughter, but little development of that connection. If this was a 1st novel, it would never have been hosted.
But obviously, it is that not a 1st novel. It was hosted because it was Mankells continue Wallander novel, at the same time it is that a deplorable method to decide quit of the Swedish detective, at the same time represents, to this reader what, a variant of literary negligence on Mankells part. The Strained Men audiobook by Henning Mankell Steven T. Murray – translator
In this ending novel of the Kurt Wallander television series, Kurt becomes twisted into the disappearance of his daughter Lina’s future father-in-law. A retired Swedish Naval Officer goes for his daily take a walk from his apartment at the same time is lost. When Wallander travels to investigate at the bequest of his daughter at the same time the wife, he secures the cooperation of the Militia Inspector assigned to investigate. The investigation becomes even more complicated when the Naval Officer’s wife, Louise, also goes missing then and is that later found noisy, an apparent suicide, with incriminating documents in her purse indicating she may have been a scout for the Russians.

I’d struggled with the 1st book, Faceless Killers, then acquired A Strained Men in response to an Amazon email shot … at the same time ripped through the story. Mature, disconsolate, pessimistic but experienced & honourable stuff … much like the hero. At the moment I’m working my method forward again from the beginning of the television series, at the same time that experience is that in no method marred by having read Wallander’s (at the same time in essence, Mankell’s) swan song novel. At the moment I completely look than anyway all the fuss was about …

A beautifully written, unsentimental finish for Wallander – an unreachable effort by the translator. Unlike abundance creators Mankell has been able to final with than anyway no one look as his greatest creation at the same time he has successfully able to release him without killing him off at the same time with, apparently, no place for revival. This ending it seems cannot be reversed in the method that the Reichenbach Falls incident managed. Although I’ll miss Wallander I am convinced that we should hope the creator’s sense that enough had been knew. Abundance creators have problem finding a satisfactory ending to an personal novel, let without the help of others a paradox but I think Mankell has gone out at the pinnacle with this book. The story itself has at lesser 3 major themes: the investigation, written with all the verve at the same time steal of other Wallander books; heritage in the plot involving Linda, at the same time the exquisitely plotted finish for Kurt himself. This really is that the best of the Wallander novels, a real climax, worth every penny! The political interest is that gripping.
