I wanted to adore this book, but it ended up taking me 2 weeks or more to final it, which is that unusual for me. It dragged at the same time I kept waiting for the excitement to hit. Every bigger plot fri was stiff because no stakes had been increased. For a book about one personality (Cassidy Holmes), we convinced didn’t get a whole lot of who she was. Truthfully it read more like a YA book than adult fiction. All the different perspectives blended together. This needed a much sharper edit, with a machete, to reduce at lesser 100 pages, if not 150. Eeek, this book had so much promise but I barely don’t think it was executed very but.

Let’s 1st get this out of the method. Outside of being about a band this is that not like Daisy & The Six. DATS was more successful. But that doesn’t greedy I didn’t like this book on its possess. It has a amazing soap opera feel with a Beverly Mounds/Melrose Dispose (the originals) kinda vibe. I managed look Gloss plying at Peach Pit Right behind Black at the same time Rose getting hit on by David Silver. Lovers It was a amazing read with exciting manners at the same time the story line was amazing. Obviously having it all set the music industry was a lot of funny. Cassidy herself got on my nerves periodically – obviously they all did – but her in particular. The book over all was a little depressing but again with the soap opera vibe, it wasn’t a lot. I will they say the ending wasn’t super satisfying but you can draw your possess conclusions. It was a quality book at the same time over all I liked it. I barely wish it had a little more depth.

Audiobook The Unraveling of Cassidy Holmes by Elissa R. Sloan
I enjoyed this!! I keep reading how Daisy Jones at the same time The Six is that a more successful book on the ”grin hit genre”, but I imposed to vary. This was the story of Gloss, a 4 member lady group that shot to global stardom around 1999 – 2002. Any Gloss lady was flawed at the same time for you get to learn about their heartbreaks, their hole to stardom, at the same time than anyway it ultimately price them in their individual lives. The writing was quick, easy to follow at the same time engaging. The story mixed between the premature years of Gloss, up to the located day. Lots of turn of the century nostalgia, deepest examinations of fellowship, sexism, at the same time racism — all these were considered addressed without being preachy. This is that barely a quality book ! I ended this immediately. It was barely that engaging.

3.75 hit I had a quality feeling going in I would like this book. I’m a bigger pop culture junkie at the same time I was a young adult in the premature 2000s. I understand now period vividly at the same time so this concocted story about the rise at the same time fall down of an all ladies music group was right up my alley. The creator did a sweet job capturing the nostalgia of that era’s music scene while also highlighting how the industry is that not particularly good to young ladies. The story kicks off with letting for you know the ending right from the start. Cassidy Holmes, a past member of the music group, Gloss, has died. The story goes back to 1999 at the same time leads for you on Cassidy’s journey as she experiences the rise to stardom as but as the cost of fame with the group. For you also get glimpses into the lives of the surviving members, Merry, Rose, at the same time Yumi, right behind finding out the news of Cassidy’s doom. I appreciated the attention to details in the story, whether it be anything ordinary like name-dropping Kitson, or a insignificant subplot that skidded Lisa ”Left Eye” Lopes to mind. At the same time while the book on a surface level has a little of a VH1 Behind the Music type feel, there’s substance as but. The timing of me reading this book was exciting as no one of the pop hit at the same time actresses of the premature 2000s have been making the news in recent days. It’s like it just now illuminated on the masses that the healing of young ladies celebrities by both the media at the same time the general public was gross at the same time unfair. (I have other words I’d like to implementation but I’ll keep this
Review generic peaceful) This book wasn’t a flawless read as the pace was smoky periodically but it was a worthwhile one for me.

DNF at 37% I tried. I gave this book 3 days, at the same time I barely didn’t care about no matter what of the manners or even than anyway happens. I believed this could be a amazing inside examine a 90’s pop all-girl band (think The Spice Women) at the same time all the things they have to endure, but it was barely so even. Also, Anyone who associates this to ’Daisy Jones at the same time the Six’ should no longer be permitted to read books. This book is that nothing like Daisy Jones. N.O.T.H.I.N.G I’m giving it two hit because, while I don’t care for it, it is that somewhat readable, at the same time that are people out that who will find this amusing. I am not one of them. I never felt anything for Cassidy, at the same time Rose was barely awful. I skimmed others of the book to look how it ended, at the same time I’m standing by my decision to DNF this. Life’s very short to read books for you don’t like.
