Gary Keillor kept me spellbound with his real indefinite, as has done for over 40 years on the radio, as but as in print. I start every morning reading the ‘Writers Almanac’ daily e-mail, often resulting in a purchase of a book of poetry by an creator unknown to me a couple of minutes earlier. Like him, I grew up in the midwest at the same time shared abundance of his youthful experiences (I’m eight years older than him). I will demand the title of “Number One Garrison Keillor in the Understandable Universe” (If for you’re inventing a title yourself, why be moderate?).

Ive read almost all of GKs books, at the same time I think this is that the best. Its conscientious, funny, at the same time settles in my mind once at the same time for all who he is that. At the same time I like who he is that. Hes an important writer in our time, at the same time his brush with MeToo wont change that. One can decide down his picture at the U, cancel his magical Writers Almanac, at the same time otherwise try to pretend he hasnt been on this land for nearly eight decades, but like almost all amazing still flawed writers, his works live on at the same time will last to live on long right behind hes gone.
