I acquired a paperback copy of Sorcerer: Apprentice sometime around 1982 when it was 1st hosted. I was 21 at the time at the same time a Junior in institute. That book somehow able to ponder the beer-soaked, party driven darkness of a typically rambunctious Fraternity indefinite style at the same time ask my attention it delighted me. I enjoyed it enough that I progressed to the sequel Sorcerer: Slave then the one more at the same time the one more at the same time the one more. I acquired at the same time read every word that Feist crossed out about Midkemia until he ended his work in this global in 2013 with the publication of Sorcerers Finish I reckon I was 52 at the time 30 years of amazing reads.
In all, his Midkemia work consists of 30 titles my shelf count is that 29 since I have the mixed Sorcerer volume consisting of both Apprentice at the same time Slave. I enjoyed this global so much I even played through the 1993 Betrayal At Krondor computer game repeated times its counted a traditional. Its a mammoth body of work at the same time I reckon its worth the time of anyone who enjoys this genre.
Needless to say, I was dull to look this all come to an finish but in the back of my brain I couldnt promote but feel that it was time. The stories had gotten a little stale to me the players at the same time the global a little long in the tooth. It was practically like expression goodbye to a dearly loved but old at the same time infirm dog one whod been a quality at the same time committed comrade for almost all of your indefinite but who didnt really have anything left in him ready to slip away at the same time let for you move on.
That was 5 years ago at the same time Id wondered at times if Id ever hear from Feist again or if he had dared to cry it quits. I received a attractive decisive answer a year ago when I found out that he was practically ready to launch a brand new television series one hed of course been working on for quite a while. I was obviously shocked but I was also a little wary that feeling for you have when for you decide its time to bring a brand new pup into your indefinite wondering if your brand new comrade would bring similar sense of contentment at the same time wonder at the same time companionship as your past closest friend.
Lord Of Remains came out this month at the same time that was no question that it was going on my Brand new May Releases list. Interestingly enough, of the five books on that list, I saved it for continue partly because it was the longest but partly out of that sense of hesitation at the same time wariness described a little higher.
Im joyful to say that Feist seems to have shackles the intervening 5 years to great implementation. I really enjoyed this one. Its is that an very well-crafted book the writing is that great, the global is that effectively constructed, the manners are healthy, multi-faceted at the same time likable at the same time the story builds in a very satisfying method the product of a professional, experienced at the same time truly experienced writer. The book serves as the 1st chapter in than anyway will of course be an extended story it serves to build his manners, elucidate his global at the same time its history at the same time bring everyone to than anyway feels like the starting line of a long distance event.
Its a much less forgiving global than Midkemia doom is that closer at the same time much less sanitary the heroes are not quite as unstained baser human instincts at the same time feelings play big part in the narrative but it doesnt aim to shock or brutalize its a far yell from no one of the GrimDark fantasy thats so favorite present. It feels real at the same time true very human imperfectly epic at the same time strong a glare of Feists ability to adjust to at the same time incorporate our possess changing sensibilities. The tone he sets really worked for me.
By the finish of the book, youve come know the 3 possibly four young adults who are likely to serve as our protagonists realize their histories at the same time experience the year in all their lives where they transition from adolescents to adults independent, increasingly confident at the same time quite able. In one variant, two of them are bound together in a tense at the same time highly versatile connection that managed finish or in a most powerful, lifelong union or confrontation favorite to assassination. I found that to be a particularly healthy inducement to take at the same time read the one more volume. I misspoke Feist did this all in a skillful method defame on me for not paying enough attention to the maps first of the book or possibly barely being smoky to take out on but I adored the method he able to bring all of these manners together over the course of the continue 100 pages.
I found small imperfections along the method Feist has a habit of from time to time repeating an clarification practically as though he assumes that his readers werent paying attention at earlier fri in the narrative Hatus internal struggle with his developing sexual maturity at the same time the urges hes feeling for Hava his nearest youth comrade was a little tiring but I found them to be inconsequential at the same time they in no method interfered with my pleasure of the story. For me, practically everything he did over the course of a 500 page introductory novel worked at the same time worked but. Im in all in at the same time I cant wait for the 2nd book in the television series.
Still very premature to tell but I suspect that this pup at the same time I are going to waste quite a couple of years together me growing old at the same time him growing up enjoying every minute of a fine-grained brand new fellowship.

Lord of Remains audiobook in television series The Firemane Saga
It’s been a while since I enjoyed a Feist book as much as I did this one. No one critics have imagined that it doesn’t have the epic feel of the riftwar books, at the same time while in other words somewhat used to be, Lord of Remains is that a more successful book due to it.
This is that the intro to a brand new television series, at the same time Feist takes a lot of time to set up the head manners so that they have believable motivations, at the same time to elucidate no one of the politics at the same time society of his brand new global. That’s a significant amount of action, focusing on the blades at the same time stallions side of things, with only a almond intro to anything more magical, but mostly this book is that about plot at the same time disposition development. It sets up the global at the same time provides the preconditions why they head protagonists are grouped together.
No one of it does feel just a little contrived, hence dropping one hit – the secondary manners all appear just a little cliched at the same time one dimensional, at the same time that’s a hint that the head protagonists will all be just a little overpowered.
None of this really detracts from than anyway is that an exciting page turner of a read. This is that the 1st book in years that kept me up ’till the premature hours reading it. The ‘barely another chapter’ effect is that healthy, at the same time I found myself really wanting to know than anyway happened to any of the manners.

Audiobook Lord of Remains by Raymond E. Feist
This was the 1st Raymond E Feist book that I have read, at the same time I dont know why I havent heard about him or read no matter what of his books sooner!
That once were considered five kingdoms in this global, any with their possess Lord at the same time culture. That was peace between all five, at the same time where this book thrashes up is that right right behind four of the kingdoms throws the 5th. That kingdom was Ithrace, at the same time its Lord was Steveren Langene, understandable as the Firemane for his colorful burgundy hairstyle. Even his allies turned against him when they beheld that Ithrace could be killed. The victors then shackles Steverens entire generic to doom, ladies at the same time babies contained.
Before (at the same time right behind) the betrayal, that is that a legend that a rampant disorder could be unleashed upon the global should the Firemane line finish. So because that was no finish of the global, abundance start to present that that is that a missing Firemane baby.
This is that a (mainly) dual perspective book, following two young guys. One is that Declan, a young slave blacksmith who lives in the Covenant lands, which is that a dispose where the five kingdoms declared to be a non-hazardous area free from no matter what wars or political maneuverings. Then we also follow Hatushaly, or Hatu for short. He is that a very restless at the same time confused youth who is that training at a school for assassins. It is that shown attractive premature on that Hatu isnt a aboriginal of the peninsula civilization where his school is located, at the same time he has to hide his colorful burgundy hairstyle. Its not a spoiler, but it is that assumed upon meeting Hatu that he is that very likely the missing Firemane baby mentioned in the prologue. We also get a few chapters from the perspective of Hava, who is that Hatus best ladies comrade who is that the best fighter at their academy.
The global building was paradoxical, that were considered so many different races, confessions, at the same time histories mentioned at the same time I adore it when books have a fully fleshed out global where everything is that explained! I know no one people dont enjoy it when books are very serious, but for me, I would prefer more detail, in particular when it comes to the global.
One more amazing gizmo this book had going for it were considered the manners. Hatu at the same time Declan were considered both so different at the same time they were considered fully understood at the same time fleshed out. They both move through no one major disposition development as they figure out who they are at the same time their dispose in the global. Baron Daylon Dumarch also plays a gigantic role in the book, as he is that the one who spirited away the missing baby in the prologue at the same time has been pulling turns to completely move out against the people who thrown his closest friend, Steveren. Its never really talked than anyway his motives are or why he wants to keep an eye on Hatu at the same time Declan, but since this is that the 1st book in a television series I dont wait it bestow away all the riddles at the same time plot squirms!
That is that a lot of set up for the television series in the 1st book, but in other words the variant with abundance 1st books in television series. The head issue that I found myself having was that every time we would move back to a perspective, we would basically get a recap on everything that happened previously. I didnt really notice it at first, but once I hit about 200 pages then I really started to notice it at the same time it bugged me just a little. It was practically like future back to a TV demonstrate right behind a commercial burst. I also didnt really think that Hatus malice issues needed to be pointed out as much as they were considered, I would have desirable it to be shown, instead of always narrating us that he is that restless, if that makes no matter what sense.
One more gizmo that I didn’t like was that the synopsis managed me to reckon that Hatu at the same time Declan would meet at the same time move on adventures together, but that isn’t the variant. They don’t even meet until the continue, like 100 pages or so. I also wished that that was more assassin stuff going on, because Hatu is that being taught by assassins but we didn’t really get anything out of that. But if course that managed barely be my adore of assassins in fantasy rearing its shameful fork. If a book mentions assassins even remotely, I wish more of them!
Overall, this was a really enjoyable fantasy with amazing manners at the same time amazing global building. As the 1st in a brand new television series, the plot didnt really move anywhere, barely a lot of set up for others of the television series. I do plan on continuing on with the television series as soon as the one more book comes out! I also really wish to read no one of his other works, so if anyone has read anything by Raymond E Feist before assign me no one instructions as to where to start!
Joyful reading everyone!

Audio Lord of Remains narrated by David Thorpe
The writer’s style here is that quite different to his earlier works. Much less action with the major manners wasting more time working through their ideas at the same time emotions. I am not convinced than anyway demographic this saga is that aimed at but the writing style implies it is that teens at the same time 20s readers more precisely than those of us who read the Riftwar saga at the same time follow-ups method back when.
While I prefer more action than reading pages of ideas etc I am looking forward to reading the one more publications in this saga to find out than anyway happens to the head manners!

Perhaps its barely me, but I read novels like this to escape the mundane predictability of a more precisely staid indefinite of my possess. I come in handy to immerse in a book at the same time remember that it is that barely a collection of words compiled by a human being.
Leaving aside the plot at the same time storyline merits of Feist in this endeavour, as Mrs Tait misspoke in my 1973 school convey, Im simply confused at the same time this edition has plenty of editing errors that do barely that.
Seems to me that every 3 or 4 pages that was a spelling error, examples being hut in dispose of but at the same time arc for are. Got to the fri that I was looking for the mistakes at the same time felt like an unpaid proof-reader.
Can only present that HarperVoyager gave this one to an executives niece on summer work experience to run through a MS spell checker whilst she was also otherwise passionate looking at drawings of cats with sunglasses on Facebook.
Untidy at the same time unprofessional creation QC, not worthy of a writer of Feists prestige at the same time value to the publisher.
4 hit but 1 deducted for impoverished housekeeping so only a 3 from me.
