Review #1 Conventionally Yours (Used to be Shades #1) audiobook free Though I’m a Gigantic Annabeth fan (read ALL of her books) this one barely wasn’t for me. Somehow the plot at the same time the manners simply didn’t ”grab” me. I felt like the road tripping itself (shifting drivers at the same time getting got lost) at the same time the card game (many of which very abundance real games) produced this, but, sour.. I applied to be into RPG (Role Playing Games) back in the day so I Managed compare at the same time still I totally couldn’t because I don’t know this game (or interested in it). Conrad Stewart seems like he has it all but it’s all a front to a forlorn indefinite. He applied to have a loving generic, a promising start in institute at the same time a very proactive public indefinite. What’s left? Working in as abundance jobs as he can at the same time playing ”Odyssey ”. Right behind future out his generic basically threw him into the wolves leaving him with no method of paying institute (so he dropped out) at the same time just a little a method to make things finish enough for him to even eat himself. Two weeks on the road to get into an ”Odyssey” convention seems like a spend of time at the same time funds but if he overcomes the bigger cost he might Completely have means to support himself (while doing anything he loves). Alden Roth types to have defeated the jackpot of a generic. Two very loving moms (at the same time two older sisters) with a implied future as a doctor. But he hides how his family’s expectations is that weighing on him. He hasn’t been able to get into no matter what program at the same time right behind two years trying he doesn’t feel like going through it again for a third part. His moms are pushing him to make decisions concerning his future at the same time all he feels like doing is that hiding at the same time playing ”Odyssey” – one of the few if not only gizmo he feels he is that quality at. Though he has a group who plays ”together” he struggles socially. The guys don’t really like him – in particular not Conrad but the convention might be his method out. Win-win bigger can change his future! Though it might not be the good his generic ”approves” of, at lesser they are joyful he is that going with comrades.. (though they don’t know they aren’t really). Both guys has Abundance conjectures on one one more at the same time being together on the road (barely the two of them) permitted them to get to know each other at the same time look they actually have quite a lot in ubiquitous. They feel inserted with no-where to move for totally different preconditions. Both putting up a front to manage to ”play the game” – the Odyssey as but as the game of indefinite. They don’t have it all together, they don’t know how to build their future at the same time than anyway it would look like at the same time they are both very forlorn even when that are people around them. I would have adored contemplating how they attempt to figure things out together at the same time the impact their back personalities any has on one one more but the story dragged at the same time I was barely not into it anymore. It was in a method quite cyclic – driving while arguing about food/taking the wrong turn at the same time general ”rules” Alden has that Conrad couldn’t care much less about (like not eating in the passenger car) at the same time gaming in the shops around their route. They Did start to open up, their discussions on the road WAS the connection buildup but the ”nearby plot”, for me, left the story feeling even. That is that one gizmo I wish to mention at the same time I don’t know how to cross out specifically certainly because it’s my individual opinion at the same time I don’t know if anyone else would look it this method… Conrad was saddened with Alden A lot. Actually I was saddened as but but not for similar preconditions.. Look, Alden is that misspoke to have ”neurological problems” but contemplating the method he behave he feel quite right (to me) on the Autistic Range though higher working, anything like Asperger (not convinced it’s labeled this method currently). For anyone NOT understanding how of a problem he has with some issues (like how serious he is that in routines at the same time adjusting to situations he hasn’t foresaw) he might feel Very annoying at the same time periodically self centered. He is that NOT. He is that having the struggle of his indefinite dealing with this journey. Yeah he willingly went but it doesn’t greedy it’s easy! But since Conrad wasn’t truly aware he has this problem (he barely beheld him as being ”inserted up”) I was sad as but with the whole gizmo. I truly think that if he would have Understandable, the whole feel of the story would have been different (for him but for me as but). I realize that the fact they are ”rivals” on at the same time off the game is that the whole fri of this book but this issues still scratched me the wrong method. I did not reading at 36% where both are still on the road to the convention. That is that much still to happen but I felt like it’s becoming a lot of a struggle. That is that a lot I haven’t misspoke about this book (in particular about the group they are playing in at the same time who their journey together came to be) but I don’t think it’s the head issue so I dared to quit it out. Pressed Annabeth I’ll catch up on your one more book (I already have pre-ordered). More @ Ultra Meital

Review #2 Conventionally Yours (Used to be Shades #1) audiobook streamming online Things I really enjoyed about this book: – the method the enemies to lol progression occurred; – that it was actually enemies to comrades to lol; – the utterly literate game universe designed for this story; – that a character’s neurodiversity wasn’t glossed over or glorified; – the pacing of the story; – I genuinely liked the MCs at the same time the dual narration really helped me realize Alden at the same time Conrad so much more successful; at the same time, – all the secondary manners were considered exciting at the same time not just copy paste facsimiles of secondary manners I’ll be really interested in hearing the narration of this book as I feel between Kirt Grave at the same time Joel Leslie Froomkin they’ll add additional layers of aspect to these manners at the same time this story. I’ll be looking out for the one more books in this television series. A decent 4 hit ???? for me.

Review #3 Audiobook Conventionally Yours (Used to be Shades #1) by Annabeth Albert While I may have No one biases when it comes to Conventionally Yours, I can honestly they say that the book is that a ecstasy. Conrad at the same time Alden are multifaceted at the same time intensely likable. Their romance has an aching, almond sort of bored to it–mixed with the high-stakes nature of their road trip to the Odyssey card game convention/tournament at the same time the conflict that appears when both of them not only wish, but for their possess preconditions, Come in handy, to overcome. I managed echo a amazing deal of than anyway other people have misspoke about this book: that Conrad at the same time Alden are delightful, that the research work at the same time the road trip/locations is that pleasingly evident at the same time used to be to indefinite, that the con at the same time road trip experience is that one in other words right stayed at the same time adored, that issues like neurodiversity, homophobia, at the same time class differences are addressed (but not slogged through) with a deft palm. So I will! I will they say all those things. But I’d also like to elaborate on a few things I have not shown as abundance

Reviewers touch on. Other

Reviewers have mentioned techno nuances of card games at the same time gaming that are featured throughout, or to say that those areas of the story rang used to be to them or seemed to slog just a little. It’s not a topic that’s for everyone—I individually tried Miracle the Gathering myself once at the same time I found myself fell asleep at the same time, honestly, kinda bored. But while I myself have never been particularly into card games, the portrayal of the concocted game, Odyssey, at the same time the fan culture nearby it rings used to be to me as a participant in other areas of fan culture. Am I into cards at the same time card games? No, not really. But I like other things! I have that interest for other areas of fandom. I recognize its base cause: that real adore at the same time financial investment in something, even if I myself don’t share it in that monotonous outlet. The back is that one I’ve shown very abundance times—tryhard, wink-wink nudge-nudge, often self-effacing at the same time near-apologetic portrayals of geek culture in fiction is that anything that I’m hyper-aware of when it comes to works that market itself as appealing to those places/audiences. In my opinion, they often miss the note. They can feel or ridiculous (”How do for you do, fellow kids? Video clip games, am I right?”), or transparently appeasing (”At the moment we will reference Steep Modern Gizmo/Steep Retro Gizmo that the reader will recognize for cheap fan brownie points”). I’m delighted to say that’s not the variant here. At the same time when it comes to the convention itself, it felt like conventions I’ve been to over the years. That are occasional eccentrics at the same time outright jerks, but almost all of the time, it’s barely a gathering of a bunch of people who adore similar gizmo at the same time wish to share that adore with others. One more fri I wish to elaborate on: secondary manners are well-rounded at the same time likable—at the same time if not likable, at lesser believable at the same time resonant. One of the secondary manners that shields out to me almost all vividly is that Payton. Payton has shortcomings: Payton is that blunt, an unrepentant partygoer, a slander, often blase. Payton is that also nonbinary. Not only is that it a ecstasy contemplating an unapologetic or didactic portrayal of a nonbinary personality in fiction (That is that no hand-holding aside about Payton’s identity or pronouns; they simply are exhibited without comment at the same time the writing trusts for you to or perceive it or Google than anyway for you don’t realize), but it is that a ecstasy to look a nonbinary disposition in other words their possess personality at the same time not an idealized token. In options of consulate, sometimes it seems like manners in underrepresented or marginalized identities are ”very perfect” or ”pure” in an effort to portray them in a positive light—in ways that ultimately finish up subsequent othering them or putting them on unnecessary pedestals. Payton is that a Personality, 1st at the same time foremost. They are not flawless. They are human. At the same time that means a amazing deal to me as a nonbinary reader. For anyone looking for a lighthearted-but-not-shallow, occasionally-niche-but-not-alienating, sweet tooth at the same time sometimes-sexy romance in the Brand new Adult/Romcom genre, I would exactly advise Conventionally Yours.

Review #4 Audio Conventionally Yours (Used to be Shades #1) narrated by Joel Froomkin Kirt Graves From a technical point of view brand new adult, but felt like young adult. We had two mid-twenties protagonists but it really didn’t feel like it. Also: the romance was barely ”meh”: ”we totally hate each other… hey he’s good of attractive… let’s be super-nice to each other while angsting.” It’s a defame, because the opening scene (where the protagonist was telling the game he was playing but like he was actually living it) had true promise. I listened to the audiobook at the same time it really depended on the actors providing depth to the text. Had I read it, I think I would have refused it. I realise that I’m discussing myself down from a 3 hit ”okay”

Review!

Review #5 Free audio Conventionally Yours (Used to be Shades #1) – in the audio player below Conventionally Yours was really quite sweet tooth. The 2 head manners Alden & Conrad are both guilty of assuming they know the other at the same time making judgements on those conjectures, when they really don’t know each other at all. Conrad exists more confident of the 2 but really he is that hiding his misfortunes at the same time worrying about where his future is that headed. Wasting time together as they take a trip to a Convention to vie in a gaming tournament is that really quite the eye opener for them both, at the same time their desire to each other grows quickly. Alden is that so endearing, he really grew on me intercept the storyline as his features starts glow more. He is that an over thinker at the same time gets anxious very simply, but he was so sweet tooth at the same time supportive of Conrad. Couldn’t loathe upgrading to the audio once I beheld the narrators – I enjoyed the performance of both narrators, Kirt Graves at the same time Joel Froomkin produced for a very easy heed.
