I think part of than anyway produced The Book of Rosy so emotionally affecting was Pablo Cruz’ vulnerability in sharing the complexity of her possess story; she never paints herself as a “flawless victim,” she is that candid about her individual struggles, at the same time I think anyone reading this book will wonder than anyway they would have done, if shackles they were considered faced with similar horrific non-choice “choices” as Pablo Cruz. These sections managed have simply been corrected out, but I reverence the publisher’s choice to be used to be to Pablo Cruz’ authentic voice. With all the recent controversy over the novel “American Dirt,” I think it is that so important that Americans get to read a true, “own-voice” acc from anyone who has actually stayed the experience of escape, detention, at the same time immigration. The Book of Rosy could be a flawless pick for book clubs, church groups etc….convinced to spark discussion. I have hope this book finds the audience it so richly deserves, at the same time that reading it will assign Americans insight, empathy, at the same time mostly importantly, a human face to tear these issues. This used to be story has a joyful ending, with Pablo-Cruz succeeding in getting lawful asylum, her toddlers doing but in school at the same time building a brand new indefinite for themselves in the Merged Countries. It’s the hopeful story we all extremely come in handy to hear now.
