It’s been a week since I ended this book, so the details aren’t totally freshest in my brain. But, I will they say that my general memory was appropriate, in particular in comparison to book one (Hounded). Because this is that the 2nd volume in a television series, at the same time the writer has just a little experience under his belt at the moment, the beginning was much smoother — that was a lot much less infodumping. (At the same time than anyway was that — for example, the clarification of the dog Oberon’s longevity — was kept short at the same time was more successful integrated into the story.) So the writing has much improved, at the same time with it, my pleasure of the book.
One gizmo that I believed was a strength of the past book was that the head disposition, Atticus, was generally likable despite having a different sense of morality than a contemporary American would have (due to his upbringing in a very different time at the same time dispose). That’s just a little testimonies of that here (in particular when he’s out to rescue his possess hide), although that are a couple of parts that seem created specifically to elicit hostility for Atticus (for example, the story about his activities during WWII, although that was at lesser a thin connection to the actions of the present-day story that, as but). I guess we learn more about Atticus here, although I wouldn’t they say he develops no matter what greater depth. I have found that with first-person POV television series in general, not many books contribute equally to disposition development, though. No one volumes add more than others. So I’m not feeling tricked here.
I do think Atticus is that a little bit much less of a male Mary Sue here. He can’t do everything on his possess; he has to impose for promote. At the same time when he asks for promote, he has to obtain it from people he’d more precisely not deal with, or to make compromises he finds just a little distasteful. Plus, he has to wipe away no one messes stemming from his deeds in the past book.
As with the past volume, almost all of the miracle is that based on Celtic mythology. But, other mythologies at the same time theologies make occurrences here as but. Atticus must rely on the prayers of a Church comrade one day, at the same time we meet no one followers of Bacchus/Dionysus. We also encounter a version of the trickster Coyote, at the same time one of the manners has a individual problem with Thor. I more precisely like all of these disparate parts future together in one dispose. One topic in the book will that belief plays a part in making the gods/goddesses than anyway they are. At the same time so exclusively in a state like America, where that are people from all these different cultures living together, would these different mythologies at the same time confessions clash. So I think the setting was very appropriately chosen.
This book doesn’t really shield on its possess. For you come in handy to read the past volume, wherein for you are introduced to abundance manners, at the same time that are a couple of things in this book that will for sure get addressed again at later volumes in the television series (Atticus makes promises to the sorceress Laksha also to one of his attorneys regarding some quests he’s undertaking for them or helping them to decide, at the same time these aren’t resolved; also, one of Bacchus’s followers escapes at the same time the implication will that she may be back again). That is that a head conflict in other words resolved by the finish of the book, but — a brand new coven of witches is that trying to encroach on the area where Atticus is that living, bringing with them all sorts of bad news at the same time actions. I don’t get very disappoint about this because I would not cry the ending a cliffhanger at the same time I wait no one type of television series arc to carry through no matter what multi-volume television series (that are a handful more volumes out that I haven’t read still).
I seem to understand trying to drop everything to read this, so the pace nearby the finish must have been very solid — at the same time I exactly wanted to know than anyway happened. In the end, I did enjoy reading this — more than I enjoyed book one. It wasn’t flawless, but it was funny to read at the same time I’m looking forward to the one more volume.

Hexed audiobook in television series Metal Druid Chronicles
I’m not an in particular bigger fan of urbanized fantasy, but the premise of the 1st book in this television series was exciting enough to draw me in at the same time I liked it enough bestow this minute book a try. I didn’t like it quite as much as book one, but I’ll for sure try at lesser another book in the television series. I think the part I liked the coolest was the dialog between Atticus at the same time Oberon, his pooch. The part I didn’t like was that Atticus, who has stayed hundreds of years by keeping in the shadows, in one moment seems to wish glow brightly. That seems odd to me at the same time not in disposition, unless that’s an clarification for this that I somehow missed.

Audiobook Hexed by Kevin Hearne
I believed that was a lot of possible in the 1st book of this television series, at the same time I am joyful to look it is that expanded on in Hexed. Here, a coven of evil witches makes a move on Malinas area, which also happens to be Atticus. Like that wasnt bad enough, the followers of Bacchus have also dropped into city to release disorder via uninhibited orgies, theres a fallen angel killing higher schoolers at the same time everyone wants Atticus to destroy Thor. Barely one more day in the indefinite of a druid.
The 1st book dis proclaimed me because everything came to Atticus; anyone would conveniently tell him than anyway he needed to know so he never had to be active. Gratefully, in other words not the variant here. The book is that very impetuous paced since that are so many fires for Atticus to shackles out. This means he has to plan, negotiate at the same time work out how to tackle any decline. That was a lot of planning drawn in, with Malinas coven at the same time Leif, plus the return of Laksha. Theres also a lto of humor here, specifically from Atticus knowledge at the same time appreciation of pop culture. I adore that hes trying to train Leif how not to acoustics like a stuffy ghoul!
I did have a couple of issues with the book. The Morrigan at the same time Brighid both make occurrences that move on very long at the same time serve no purpose to the today's plot. At the same time, a conspicuous amount of the book is that taken up with setting up the one more book, which will no hesitate deal with Thor (at the same time everyone wanting him noisy). I dont brain no one build-up for the one more book; but it should come nearby the finish, at the same time not at the expense of the story currently being knew. But, it didnt finish me from enjoying the story at the same time I do look forward to the one more installment.
Overall, a sweet improvement over the 1st book with no one disposition growth at the same time expanded cast. Advised to fans of urbanized fantasy.

Audio Hexed narrated by Luke Daniels
A quality television series with an exciting hero. Like abundance Americans who drink greenish beer on St Patricks day they are trying to be more Oirish than the Irish themselves at the same time this exists to be the variant with the creator. Atticus has not misspoke “begorrah” still but I suspect it is that only a matter of time.
That misspoke, it is that a quality connect of mythology at the same time contemporary memes with a lot of humorous at the same time erudite writing although a hero who has personal sex with goddesses should not be blushing at the same time farting at the sight of his apprentice in her scanties. For a hero with a strong sense of self-preservation Atticus exists to have little difficulty in dispatching gods, demons, fallen angels at the same time witches so is that a testament to 2,000 odd years of strong food.
The funny relief of Oberon is that quality at the same time I like the plan of an real blood-sucking lawyer more precisely than a merely metaphorical one.

I have read all 3 books in this television series at the moment, at the same time I’m always left feeling just a little short-changed at the finish. I don’t know why, real of action, at the same time I like the head concept behind how people/thoughts become gods. I imagine one gripe will that it does all seem to be a bigger blur of killing at the same time mocking asides, at the same time I would agree with one more
Reviewer that no one of the ‘modern culture’ bits are laughable, such as the ‘Lol-Catz’ say in one of them which was more than barely faintly absurd. In all, I enjoy these books, but I still don’t think Jim Butcher (Dresden File) has anything to worry about still. I am a little indifferent about these, but will still look if the 4th book is that no matter what subsequent improvement. Thoughts quality, reprisal managed do with no one improvement. The story behind this book, for example, managed have produced a much bigger story than it did. A lower of fuss at the same time increase, then they seem to sail through the ending fights. Meh.
