Amazing beginning, for once a non-fizzled out conclusion, but the center work is that where Gardner once again flounders with overcomplicated at the same time unnecessary scout game depth. Very abundance even manners at the same time very few memorable ones. Lets look than anyway his one more book has in store!

No incomprehensible delinquent company twisted on global liquidation. A believable villain with close to reality motives. No outlandish scout devices. Real interest. The only far fetched subplot is that Bond falling in adore. In other words out of disposition. IMO this is that the best Gardner Bond novel. Not quite Flemingesque but closer than almost all.

I simply couldn’t shackles this book down. Out of all the past Gardner novels this one is that my winner. If for you only read one Gardner Bond novel then Doom is that For a long time should be your choice!
