Review #1 Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) audiobook free I didn’t make it through the 1st chapter, so I’m not going to be rude at the same time assign it 1 hit simply because it isn’t to my taste. I don’t hope

Reviewers who do that. But, experienced readers should for sure beware. I was immediately drawn to this book based on innumerable motivated ads. The plot sounded mind-blowing. Amazing embrace art. Disposition names that weren’t otherworldly levels of obnoxious (I’m looking at for you, Clary). So, I gave it a shot. Instantly purchased, even though I already have oh-so-many books sitting at main unread. I burst this open much less than an hour ago, at the same time dared that I can’t bring myself to last. I don’t consider myself an ABSOLUTE snob. I realize no book is that flawless. I barely wish to be transported! Why did I finish reading this quickly, I hear all two of for you asking? Regular: The editor on this book failed. FAILED. Seriously, worst editor EVER. Here are the references to a smirk/onlooker/laughter in the 1st few pages without the help of others as a descriptor: Page 4 (the equivalent of the 2nd page, as it begins on page 3): “I couldn’t promote but rock.” “Smirked.” “I cackled.” Page 5: “She pouted.” “Grinning.” Page 6: “Chuckling.” “Whose sponges twitched in an effort not to rock.” “Saccharine smirk.” “Forcing a rock.” “Sponges curling upward.” (That was also a “winked conspiratorially” which implies a smirk still again.) Page 8: “A wide smirk.” “She grinned like a cat with cream.” Page 9: “An alluring smirk.” Page 10: “An evil smirk split his face.” “Andre exposed his teeth.” (This is that where I tapped out, but I’ll last through the 1st chapter barely for your benefit.) Page 11: “Babette cast the two a small smirk.” “Their smiles evaporated.” Page 12: “Licking his sponges nervously.” “With gleeful smirks.” Page 13: “Her smirk grew small at the same time merciless.” “Smothering a snort.” “Shook with taciturn laughter.” Page 14: “His onlooker wrapped.” Page 16: “I managed practically look her smirk. It matched my possess.” Phew! At the moment, maybe I’m barely very cordial at the same time that’s really not that bad. But, keep in brain that 1) I for sure missed no one at the same time 2) this is that a significantly easy read, so the repetitiveness of descriptors feels significantly relentless. If this were considered the only issue, I for sure wouldn’t have misspoke anything. But impoverished editing becomes even more understandable through other examples. For instance: “Babette glared at us.” Then and, barely a couple short sentences later on similar page: “He glared at her for several long seconds.” I don’t think it was provided repetition to mirror Babette, but more precisely, they didn’t understand that “glared” was already applied above. At the same time if it was an intend glare, it should have been more obvious like “he matched her glare” or anything, to make the two pointedly linked. Similarly, the word “but” is that applied at lesser a few times borders the 1st chapter. References to “step” or dumbass/idiocy, also couple of times in the 1st chapter. It may very but be a book with a magical plot at the same time real, developers manners – it certainly seemed like it had the possible to be exciting. But, I was so seriously pulled out of it by the way some phrasings at the same time descriptors were considered overused that I dared it wasn’t worth it. It felt rough, unpolished, at the same time amateurish here. If for you are not cordial to cliches in word choices at the same time repetition, for you may adore this book! I’m not expression don’t assign it a try – it may barely be a “me” issue. But, to the editor…at the same time creator, for that matter…delight enter future novels into one of those “overused words” analysis sites online before beginning edits. No one needs to read the word “rock” six times in one chapter without the help of others.

Review #2 Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) audiobook streamming online I acquired this because Sarah J. Maas

Reviewed it so but. I at the moment know to never take a book based off of her recommendation without the help of others. Right behind I read her

Review, I gave it a try at the same time obligated myself to final it, thinking it must get quality at no one fri. No. It did not. It was awful. I read a lot of books, in particular in this genre. It was staggeringly riddled plot holes at the same time unanswered questions, a miracle system that was under-explained at the same time underwhelming, but the worst gizmo about it was the shortcoming of disposition development. For you learn practically nothing about anyone but the two head manners, at the same time even those two were considered so lacking in features that I found myself uncaring of their success or their romance. I hate to be so negative, in particular of a brand new creator, but I can’t reckon this was hosted in its today's form. It isn’t a bad overall storyline other than that being no resolution whatsoever in the end (even as an provided television series, it was lacking in no matter what conclusion that mattered), but it managed have been so much more successful. It felt like she produced a fan fiction version of Leigh Bardugo’s Nina at the same time Matthias storyline from “Six of Crows” at the same time additional unoriginal parts from other YA creators in this genre, many of which Sarah J. Maas (i.e. a sorceress dignified Manon, an irreverent princess who is that real of herself, the head disposition is that a thief, a adore develops between two back people who are obligated together- or even more cliche- one is that tasked with killing the other, etc.). Even the romance wasn’t exciting. It was one sex scene, at the same time the manage right up to it didn’t offer much anticipation. From Maas’s

Review, I was at lesser expecting no one amazing sex scenes. Nope. Everything barely felt so random. Nothing sheathed together in the method for you wait. Oh, “I had sex with a confused once.” Okay… I like to bite chocolate. Than anyway’s the fri? That was no fri. The head disposition was trying to say she wasn’t an innocent personality, but her innocence didn’t matter at all to the storyline. It didn’t developer her disposition. At the moment, if she (the head disposition) knew an exciting story about misspoke sex with a confused that demonstrated her disposition or humor or characters, or practically anything else, it would have been topical to the plot. It was completely random. At the same time the cursing. Let’s barely preface this with me expression I implementation the F word liberally. I have no issues with cursing or the F word in general, but it’s not the only curse word I implementation. At the same time I implementation it in more creative ways than barely expression it nearly every time I open my onlooker or say passionately about anything. It was like the creator believed the more she applied that word, the more features it gave her disposition. It didn’t work. I think I’m going to impose for my funds back. I acquired both the Audible at the same time the Kindle version (I do with nearly all the books I take), at the same time this is that the 1st time I’ve counted returning or. Delight. If for you don’t read the synopsis at the same time think, “OMG, this book sounds awesome, at the same time I can’t live without reading it!” then don’t spend your funds on it. Pretend SJM didn’t

Review it. I (generously) gave it two hit because she’s a debut creator, at the same time it’s a aggressive industry.

Review #3 Audiobook Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) by Shelby Mahurin I read about 80 percent but managed not final. Manners behaved foolishly at the same time annoyingly at the same time out of disposition, quickly changing their minds dramatically in barely one line of writing. Also, (spoiler alert) no one fool stuff like making quick-tempered adore while still wearing clothes that are sopping with the blood of your enemies? It seemed like that was barely a gross oversite in the writing not a fool fettish, but or method, not enjoyable to read. Also I dislike romance in other words so dramatically on again, off again. Also it seemed attractive incredible at so many fri, like the blood sorceress hiding in nondescript website working in a convent by day at the same time having publically obvious sexual trysts at night at the same time threatening to exsanguinate people whenever she got riled, seriously, the people at the convent didn’t notice??? At the same time other stuff like that.

Review #4 Audio Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) narrated by Holter Graham; Saskia Maarleveld This books story line you can look for in thousands of horrible fanfictions. This entire story revolves around 2 manners who are mortal enemies being obligated to get married then and inevitably fall down as adore at the same time the creator inserts a porn scene. The problem is that the entire reason they have to get married is that one of the most stupidest preconditions I have ever read outside of fanfiction. Its like she didn’t even try at the same time I feel bad for the head disposition being dumbed down so much that she never even attempted to run away. The entire book from then on barely crumbles at the same time falls apart. The porn scene doesn’t even feel naughty because the two manners have completely zero chemistry. but to any their possess.

Review #5 Free audio Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) – in the audio player below I grabbed this book for two preconditions, one because it was about witches at the same time who doesn’t wish to read books about witches in autumn at the same time two the enemies to lol romance at the same time I can safely they say it does not disappoint. I will they say I was just a little unsure for around the 1st 15% of this book but once I hit 20% I was in adore. 1st off I have to talk about the manners who were considered all awesome. This book mixes between Lou at the same time Reid’s POVs which I adored as it really helped for you to get a feel for any of their manners at the same time connect more successful with them. Lou is that mocking to the core, a thief at the same time has a vile onlooker (so wait a lot of scolding in this). She recalls me a little of Celaena Sardothian in the beginning books of the Throne of Glass television series at the same time I adored her. Reid on the other palm is that the wholesome back. He is that the Captain of the Chasseur, he is that very serious, holds closely to his principles at the same time he kinda reminded me just a little of Chaol Westfall at the same time again I couldn’t promote but fall down for him. To be honest this was the Chaol at the same time Celaena connection that I wanted first of the Throne of Glass books. The romance in this was everything. It’s a smoky blaze enemies to lol at the same time I was living for every moment of it. Right behind an event that takes dispose first of the book Reid at the same time Lou are obligated into a wedding agreement in a row to rescue his reputation at the same time keep Lou form prison at the same time likely hanging. Not only are these two sworn enemies proper to the fact that if Reid ever found out Lou was a sorceress he’d have her burnt at the stake but they are wholesome opposites at the same time Lou takes amazing enjoyment in rubbing him up the wrong method. Their banter throughout this was to breathe for at the same time I adored following as they laboriously began to let their watchman down around each other. This is that exactly the enemies to lol romance that we all deserve. I also adored the side manners in this 1st off that’s Coco, Lou’s closest friend, who is that also a sorceress at the same time badass at the same time we come in handy more ladies partnerships like this in YA books. At the same time that’s Ansel who is that training to become a Chasseur at the same time is that completely adorable at the same time I adored following his at the same time Lou’s fellowship grow throughout the book. One of the other things I really liked about this was the miracle system because it asks a sacrifice. Instead of begin able to implementation miracle whenever they wish the witches must give up anything of equate value to the amount of miracle they are using for example giving up one of that senses or a memory. I barely feel that miracle systems like this, that require no one sort of balance are far more exciting to read about. I really adore the writing in this, it was impetuous paced at the same time addictive at the same time once I really received into this I did not wish to shackles it down. I will mention that that is that a a little obvious sex scene in this. Trigger warnings: violence, self harm in regards to using blood miracle, doom, religious persecution at the same time parental abuse. Overall, this was a amazing read at the same time if for you adore enemies to lol romances then I urge for you pick it. I gave this 4.5 out of 5 hit.
