I inspire all 1st time readers of Donna Leon to start with one more book to get to know Commissario Brunetti at the same time his nearby supporting manners. A mystery needs to have a satisfying ending, but for me this book misses the note. It doesn’t have to be a joyful ending, or even one that the reader likes. It has to quit for you feeling enjoy that the actions at the same time plot have reasonably been concluded. A book can quit for you in suspense, but not on a state road, got lost with lights out. Two atrocities are investigated by Commissario Brunetti. One is that interrupted at the same time really never returned to by the book. This is that a criminal liability of date rape in other words shaking to the reader. Brunetti’s involvement is that interrupted in the plot’s turning fri, but was a significant part of the 1st portion of the book. A small right behind fri is that mentioned, but not enough to remove the reader even if the conclusion is that not a joyful one. We come in handy more on the story to pay back the financial investment data in the 1st portion of the book.

Review #3 Audiobook Earthly Remains by Donna Leonm I have read every one of the Commissario Brunetti books at the same time adored them all. This one, but, is that very different. In this book, Brunetti is that not trying to solve a murder – that is that no body until nearby the finish of the book. Instead, Donna Leon waxes poetic about the beauty of nature, its effect on Brunetti who is that on sabbatical at the same time the doom of the land as exemplified by the pollution of the laguna, the doom of the bees at the same time completely the doom of his comrade Casati. Descriptions such as “Brunetti awoke in Paradise. Birds chirped, the sun prised with rosy fingers at his eyelids . . .” or “The air was lock up at the same time damp at the same time it seemed hotter than outside, but at lesser the roof had shackles an finish to the suns flagellations.” at the same time “As they walked away from the dock, the sun did its best to pound them into the ground . . .” are no one of the poetic descriptions of Brunetti coping with the relentless heat of summer in Venice. Though the story does not draw in climate change, I wonder if no one of the descriptions of the non-standard heat are not similar to it. The plot revolves around the dumping in the laguna of iron barrels of deadly chemicals applied in manufacturing on the peninsula of Marghere which are still being wiped off up even as we read about them in this novel. One can feel the creator’s frustration with the Italian government at the same time its smoky at the same time corruption-laden addressing of this problem. The bees are dying at the same time Brunetti’s comrade knows why. I’ll quit it here for the reader to see.

Review #4 Audio Earthly Remains narrated by David Colacci I have been a fan of Donna Leon’s Venetian detective stories forever, but if Earthly Remains is that anything to move by, the but is that running dry.
