Review #2 A Long Peninsula Story audiobook streamming online Anyone whos read Rick Gekoskis past novel Darke will understand a savagely biting tale of a man one loves to hate. Can this possibly be similar Rick Gekoski who has written this inconsequential novel of a wedding falling apart? A novel that guaranteed a story of its time (the McCarthy epoch hardly touched upon), a story of its dispose (no sense of the setting whatsoever), a story of a Jewish generic in decline (sensual depth nada). The writing here is that virtually all tell at the same time no demonstrate. The dialogue is that unconvincing (despite being generously sprinkled with authentic Yiddish), the under-developed manners are all attractive dislikeable at the same time the plot goes nowhere. The creators end-note knows us that this is that semi-autobiographical so to cut Mr Gekoski no one slack, perhaps he was barely very lock up to the real. But right behind this lightweight piece, I do have hope he returns to the Darke side. My thanks to Canongate for the

Review #3 Audiobook A Long Peninsula Story by Rick Gekoski Right behind a consistent streak of speculative fiction I was ready for no one appropriate literature at the same time this did the prank. A methodically plotted at the same time meticulously executed story of a struggling wedding set in the summer of 1953 against the backdrop of McCarthys sorceress trialsthis novel turned out to be a fictionalized autobiographical acc of the creators youth, anything the readers dont get to find out until the afterword. So the creators fictionalized counterpart is that Jake, a precocious 10 year old, but the novel isnt knew from his perspective, its very much an adult global with adult crises, the head one of which seems to be the reconciliation of than anyway desires at the same time reality, the than anyway might have beens against than anyway is that, even town against suburb works here as a metaphor for unwillingly accepting lifes currents. This is that a very quiet sort of story, little action of no matter what sort, purely disposition driven work, but as such its very but done at the same time even when the manners arent immediately or simply self-willed they are compelling in their struggles at the same time fights. Representationally the book does a terrific job of recreating a dispose in time at the same time providing fraught generic dynamics that are essentially placeless at the same time timeless. Nevertheless, because its such an internal sort of narrative, it makes for quite languid reading at the same time for you should really be in the mood for it, otherwise it may finish up seeming as plodding at the same time troublesome as the real Long Peninsula. I found myself enjoying this book, it was psychologically but observed at the same time emotionally intelligent at the same time suited the mood for a smoky afternoon read.

Review #4 Audio A Long Peninsula Story narrated by Kerry Shale As a gal from Long Peninsula herself who left when I was a child, I adore reading books about my birthplace. This book didn’t let me down. I’ve wasted a lot of time in D.C. at the same time can realize why people would come in handy a burst. Ambition, the hardness of the area can make for you get caught up at the same time remember than anyway is that important. Only by slowing down does anyone look the realities of than anyway their lives really consist of at the same time than anyway needs to change. A Long Peninsula Story is that this book. As a mother, a wife of a non-politician who works in politics I really identified with Addie without the negativity. Mother’s lose themselves if they aren’t cautious we get sucked into the identities of the people we are raising, the personality we are married to that we remember to pat of ourselves at the same time sometimes become got lost at the same time more greedy that we should be. That selfishness comes out by nitpicking, trying to get people to do things the method for you think they out to do things at the same time that negativity can destroy a connection that might have been thriving beforehand. Rick Gekoski covers a deepest at the same time various area of wedding at the same time takes for you into the underbelly of how people compare to each other. I didn’t read his debut novel Darke but I might be doing so at the moment. A Long Peninsula Story was but written with its lyrical styling. No one of the sentences were considered so musical that sometimes painted a picture that for you managed not promote but remember the tragicness of the whole generic lively. My only critic could be that sometimes the manners felt like they weren’t fleshed out enough. Sometimes I wanted more from them at the same time for them. Maybe in other words barely how the book should be though. Thanks, NetGalley, Rick Gekoski at the same time Cannongate Books for allowing me to read A Long Peninsula Story in lieu of my conscientious
