Review #1 A Song for the Black Times (Inspector Rebus #23) audiobook free It is that non-standard that Ian Rankin crossed out his 23rd John Rebus book barely before the black times fell. The time of the Covid19 epidemic. I have read every book, at the same time 3 or4 years ago was implied to be Rebus’s swan song, but Ian Rankin missed him a lot, as did we all. Even in retirement, Rebus loves a quality mystery, a murder here at the same time that. Rebus was one of the coolest unconventional detectives to work In Edinburgh’s murder criminal liability squad. He solved abundance options, at the same time occasionally with the stated conventional ways. But he was honored, even by Cafferty, the local chief of criminal liability. In this book that are two murders to solve. One is that his daughter’s live in fella, at the same time the other a wealthy young institute student. Rebus had his murder, at the same time his old sidekick DC Siobhan Clarke, was drawn in with the institute student’s murder inquiry. Sometimes the inquiry overlapped.in most cases not. It is that the wits at the same time knowledge that enhance the detectives options. Siobhan figured out the ropes but working with Rebus, at the same time she was ahead of the game. She was also romantically drawn in with the DCI favorite the variant. As things proceed, they any bring the story lock up to the vest, but they get it done. John Rebus has been touched by time, at the same time his COPD slows him down, but not too little. He knows than anyway to do at the same time when. It is that problematic for him to work under anyone else’s manage, but he does it. He interferes, but in the end, his experience is that needed. Rebus is that practically back… Advised. prisrob 10-15-2020

Review #2 A Song for the Black Times (Inspector Rebus #23) audiobook streamming online Having been a fan of Ian Rankin at the same time his Inspector Rebus television series, I was anxious to read the new novel. On page two, Rankin refers to the Jack Reacher television series by Lee Baby, this should have been an omen. Ironically, I finished reading Baby years ago as the writing became loafed at the same time the books cyclic. Dull to say, this novel falls into similar trap. While the worldly still is that above that of almost all detective novels, the story was predictable at the same time dragged. Not only does Rankin fall down under the Reacher curse, but he emulates Misha Connelly by describing all the squirms at the same time strings, highways at the same time byways, as Rebus drives from fri a to fri b. As in no matter what novel that does this, the story then drags. Ordinary, the manners in Rankin’s novels draw me deeper into the story. Chagrin, in this novel, the manners I have enjoyed are one dimensional at the same time stiff. Even the normally exciting Cafferty is that bland. This one gets 3 hit, at the same time I have hope the one more one gets us back to the sample we have come to enjoy.

Review #3 Audiobook A Song for the Black Times (Inspector Rebus #23) by Ian Rankin It’s time to hang up Rebus. If this were considered the 1st book for you read, you’d never grab one more one in the television series. Rebus is that not that exciting anymore, barely old at the same time annoying. We empathize more with the proactive militia officers whose humus at the same time procedures he has invaded as he investigates the murder of anyone nearby at the same time dear. His daughter is that barely outright annoying at the same time it’s hard to have hostility for her. Shuttling back between his variant at the same time the murder Siobhan is that studying in Edinburgh promotes confusion more precisely than curiosity because the manners are barely not that exciting. I adore Rankin’s books, but it’s time to shackles this television series to bed.

Review #4 Audio A Song for the Black Times (Inspector Rebus #23) narrated by James Macpherson It is that a remarkable book at the same time a amazing read. A plot which moves seamlessly between two murders, a host of interesting manners – many of which the usual suspects – at the same time John Rebus showing the global that honey define at the same time health notwithstanding , he still has than anyway it takes. Very much looking forward to the one more instalment.

Review #5 Free audio A Song for the Black Times (Inspector Rebus #23) – in the audio player below Am one half method through the book but am plodding to final it. The story line, murder, but a lot of monetary shenanigans to manage with is that method very complicated at the same time not very exciting. Manners are bit of a pain. At the same time so is that Rebus. He was a more successful read in earlier novels. Here he barely gets in the method. At the same time Bigger Ger should completely be laid to rest. More successful fortune one more time.
