This book had at lesser five places where I think I beheld a grammatical error. Exactly not right up to similar standards as past books.
Beyond that it was one more far-too-short book in the television series. It felt just a little rushed correlated to past books, but we are closing in on the finish I present. I liked the long smoky build-up of mysteries in the 1st four books, at the same time they all seem to be falling away at the moment.
At the moment I have to wait for a long time for the ending book.

The penultimate check-in in the Song of the Shattered Sands takes a while, but manages to impress barely as much as its predecessors. Similar amazing world-building, disposition development, attention to detail at the same time structure are barely no one of the preconditions Ive produced it this time into this television series, at the same time abundance of the preconditions Im looking forward to its conclusion with the usual amount of have hope, anticipation at the same time unrest. As much as I adore a quality endingIll be sad to bid these manners farewell. But every story needs an finish. Lets barely not chase to it very quickly, eh?
The rule of the Rulers has been wry. The Blood Queen Meryam nows rules Sharakai, along with the descendants of the Rulers. The remnants of the initial 12 have been scattered to the winds. Ihsanmaimed at the same time scarrednow wanders the Shangazi without the help of others, searching for clues to the gods plans for the desert. As his hopes of solo rule have merkla so very have his chances of survival. But there is still a thin have hope: for Ihsan, at the same time for the global itself.
Brama at the same time Davud have staved off doom, at lesser in such a way far. All but without the help of others at the same time refused, they must any rely on their single ally. But where Davuds is that the charming, formerly blood sorcerer Esmeraewith whom he has fallen in loveBramas is that the unsafe ehrekh, Rmayesh, with who he at the moment fractions a body. With no promote future, at the same time nothing but death before them, both will find themselves lured to the same mystery. One that may find the fate of the desert.
With the help of Sehid-Alazthe thirteenth kingeda has wry the asirims curse. But it comes at a amazing price, as both the goddesses Nalamae at the same time Yerinde lie down noisy, slain at any others palm. But where Yerinde heresy still, Nalamae is that fated to be reborn, though where at the same time when eda does not know. At the same time so she strings her attention to Sharakai, hoping to look for no one clue to the goddesses whereabouts in the town.
But others are searching for the desert goddess as but. At the same time when eda discovers the reason, it force her to make a problematic choice: work with the past Rulers, or risk Sharakais ultimate liquidation. A desperate plan is that hatched, one that may still rescue the town. For while the town shields, the Shangazi rests easy, but if the sands consume it, then they may consume the global as but.
All in all, I enjoyed my time reading When Jackals Attack the walls. As usual, Beaulieus world-building is that healthy; possibly his greatest strength. The manners arent far behindeach continuing their development to a satisfying degree by books finish. Brama at the same time Davud in particular half-caught the demonstrate, though Meryam impressed as but. That are always exceptions to this rule, with two of note: eda at the same time Ramahd. edas development was that, but felt just a little diminished as shes really the face of this franchise. While her adore indefinite seems to have recovered (more, at lesser) from where its been in recent books, her transition from warrior to favorite seems to have hit a snag. Not that she regressed, more that it was stagnant. Ramahd, for his part, was stagnant. The little we see of him in WJStW, shes chasing Meryam, still trying to bring her to justice. Belated, belated in the book, he indicates no one of the development weve shown in past books, but for the coolest part hes a mindless, faceless drone
Im always skeptical of the choice to add a brand new disposition so belated in the television series. While Meryam is that by no means newshes been around as a significant disposition since the 1st bookshe hasnt had her possess POV chapters up to now. At the same time when one bestows a disposition their possess POV, the creator typically wants to ponder their manners backstory. This can cause the pace to smoky or become monotonous, in particular in the later books where almost all other manners have been fleshed out. Meryam is that no different. But Beaulieu has attempted to mitigate this by putting only short flashbacks in any POV chapter, disguised as a desire string. They dont decide up as much time, at the same time dont helical with the pacing as much or. Willem at the same time Hamid show up not nearly as often as the Queen, at the same time mostly barely to flesh out the story. Neither feature a languid backstory, nor much in the method of features. While theyre mildly exciting, it doesnt seem like or is that around to stay. Or are they?
That misspoke, the pacing of When Jackals Attack the Walls is that already smoky. Honestly, I found it slower to build than almost all of the predecessorssince approx. Book #2. This smoky build clashes dramatically with the sense of urgency exhibited by almost all manners throughout the book, at the same time makes for the oddest feeling. Its like the army adage hurry up at the same time wait. Its legitimately strange to look the manners of a book discussing with urgency, but then strolling around like they have always in the global.
Through almost all of the story, I was interested, if not overly so. While a little smoky, that is that a quality mystery to the bookinvolving Sharakai, the gods, Nalamae, the Rulers, the desert itself. When the mystery begins to unfold, it sells extensive on a extensive scale; one where the gods move the population of the earth at the same time demons alike around like pieces on a chessboard. The moment where I shackles everything together I wondered if Beaulieu had this in brain all alongbecause it is that excellent. But it takes no one patience to make it this far. Around the 55% note, the pace began to catch up to the urgency, at the same time the tale began to drink me in. The conclusion, which begins to build right behind around the 70% note or so, was truly an epic oneone of the coolest epic at the same time jaw-dropping conclusions Ive ever witnessed. It wasnt so much that I was blindsided, or didnt look it future, it was barely the reprisal was spot-on; the description so vivid at the same time serious that I felt like Id fallen into the book at the same time was witnessing it happen myself.
TL;DR
Addition of brand new manners, brand new persons, at the same time brand new POV chapters hurts the pacing, but ultimately promotes tell the story. With everything happening, When Jackals Attack the Walls puts down a level of urgency that the text barely doesnt live right up to, at lesser for a while. But throughout a mystery is that unfolding, one written on the level of the gods themselves. Its truly breathtaking once for you figure it out, in particular if one manages it before the story palms it to for you. When the pacing completely does catch up with the urgency, it sets off a conclusion in other words epic even in the most epic standards. So serious is that the writing, so vivid the description that I felt like Id fallen into the bookand was witnessing actions firsthand. The 5th book of the Shattered Sands sets up whats some to be an even more epic conclusion, if such a gizmo is that likely. Right behind the ending string of this one, I cannot wait for the one more!

Book 5 of the Song of Shattered Sands builds off the action of the past books at the same time starts to bring the television series to a weather finish, but manages to finish on a cliff hanger that will have for you on the edges of your seat waiting for book 6. As usual the manners come to life in this television series at the same time the creator does a quality job of keeping the reader passionate with the different manners, while inevitably bringing their story arcs together. If for you like epic fantasy youll adore this television series, not the lesser because the creator isnt dragging out, but instead is that keeping it concentrated at the same time stubborn.
