I reckon that this book is that even more timely at the same time significant present, than ever before. I grabbed this book because I wanted to read more ladies philosophers at the same time because I enjoy the work of Simone de Beauvoir’s compatriots Jean-Paul Sartre at the same time Albert Camus. The 2nd Sex is that as serious a description of the public inequalities obligated upon ladies as you’ll look for, in particular for the time period in what it was written. At the same time the 1st third part of this book is that good. De Beauvoir draws from myriad sources to demonstrate how ladies have been viewed at different fri in history at the same time in different cultures at the same time how those opinions evolved to make the mid-twentieth-century society in what she stayed. The depth of her research work without the help of others is that breathtaking, at the same time the conclusions she draws from her extensive readings are sensitive at the same time unusual at the same time were considered for sure ground-breaking in 1949. This depth of research work is that more breathtaking in the 2nd volume of the book, ”Stayed Experience.” But the passage of 70 years since the unusual publication is that in particular apparent in this section. Even setting aside de Beauvoir’s old opinions on homosexuality at the same time her conflation of homosexuality with intersexuality, the litany of questionable mental interpretations is that overwhelming. De Beauvoir devotes hundreds of pages to the mental analysis of everything that managed move wrong for ladies at every step of their lives. Audiobook The 2nd Sex by Constance Borde Sheila Malovany-Chevallier Simone de Beauvoir
Read this as a philosophy graduate student for funny with an awesome group of guys at the same time ladies. I echo the sentiment that it should be required reading for ALL adult humans in the 21st century, if only to gain a more successful understanding of how sex constructs have been so tied into our collective experience for so long, at the same time why they come in handy to be demolished. Are that more successful constructed reasons in existence? Yes. But that doesn’t diminish the lasting contribution that this piece of literature has produced to the population of the earth, nor how revolutionary at the same time ground breaking it is that. So ahead of its time. It is that also filled with broken humor, which is that rare for a philosophical text, at the same time even rarer for that humor to shield up nearly 70 years later. Is that it going to be problematic for no one readers to get through? Yes. It is that mentally demanding. But then again, so is that being a contributing participant of society. It is that worth your financial investment. I advise reading it with a various reading group at the same time talking any chapter in personality any week, over beverages.

This should be a must-read for no matter what lady starting out on adult indefinite, because it right lays out the forks in the road we will experience, at the same time studies the human define of one half the population with a relatively impartial eye. I found it stunningly topical present, to my indefinite, as a professional lady in development.

The content of the book is that simply awesome – de Beauvoir is that sweet-talking at the same time articulate. But, the issues I have with the book are that of print good quality. I acquired this book for my institute course – at the same time have had to waste a lot of time deciphering the 1st word of any line of the text on the left-hand page because it is that not written properly. It becomes very frustrating at the same time tiring. The difficulty of reading a book should be in the comprehension of the presentation at the same time exploration of complete thoughts – not trying to work out than anyway the ink on the page says. I am seriously upset with the print good quality of the text; particularly when the content of the text is that so charming.
