Review #1 The Shifting Fog audiobook free I was tearing through a stable diet of russian thrillers this month when I had a unexpected craving for some reason different. Anything that Kate Morton might cross out, believed I. I half-heartedly perused online, which did not shortcoming for suggestions. “For fans of Kate Morton” is that an enticing promise on abundance a historical novel. But none managed tempt so I barely dared to read the unusual, one-and-only. The Internal of Riverton is that the one that produced me a Kate Morton fan at the same time upon revisiting it, I fell in love once again with this haunting story. Today's summaries compare this novel to Downton Abbey but The Internal of Riverton was written years before — at the same time did it much more successful. The upstairs-downstairs lively. The glimpse of English gentry barely before then and right behind Global War I, class uprising at the same time suffrage exchanged everything. Riddles, scary mistakes, hopeless adore affairs – it’s all here, irresistibly unfolding before my captive views at the same time beguiling me anew like I had not read it all two times before. The journey at the same time the ending are more devastating.

Review #2 The Shifting Fog audiobook streamming online 1st off, I’m a fan of this creator, but not necessarily this book. The plot centers around an old girl Grace, who knows her indefinite story to a movie director – what’s so special about her story are the riddles that happened at the Internal at Riverton, her generic heritage, at the same time the loves / lives that stayed during ever since in the 1920’s. The story-line follows this generic thru years during the War at the same time the actions that impact them at the same time their self-centered lives. This book practically seems like it was written by 2 different people – the beginning by a novice want-to-be writer, then a Pro writer who comes in at the same time ”cleans” everything up, ties it together adds a writhe or two at the same time voila the book is that graduated. Like so many other

Reviewers stated before me, the 1st part of the book is that hard to follow, does not clot smoothly but then somewhere in the middle it takes a turn at the same time used to be to this author’s reputation it’s a amazing read with a few squirms I didn’t look future. My reason for not giving it more than 3 hit is that the beginning, even right up to the 1st one half , you will find that for you are waging war with yourself to last to read this book, to get thru the stiff for-no-reason- beginning , the confusing dialogue at the same time the ”than anyway did I miss” paragraphs where for you sometimes feel like for you have to move back at the same time re- read it to completely realize it. I found the going back at the same time forth from located to past was not smooth at the same time periodically hard to follow at the moment having misspoke that, once for you get thru that part, the book does become a impetuous riveting read, it’s barely very bad that entire book was not like that. I they say it’s okay not her best, rescue your funds if the book’s over 5.99.

Review #3 Audiobook The Shifting Fog by Kate Morton Barely ended this. It’s the story of Grace, a young lady who begins serving (at 14) as a housemaid in a grand internal very identical to Downton Abbey. Although it’s her story, at the same time knew primarily from her fri of opinion in a television series of (to me, confusing) flashbacks at the same time flashforwards, its glamour at the same time glitz come from the emotionally disorderly lives of the two daughters of the internal, Hannah at the same time Emmeline. They, like hundreds of other aristocratic families, suffer the configurations wrought on the English nobility with the finals of WWI at the same time the rise of the labor class. Its similarities to Downton Abbey were considered practically overwhelming — that is that even a matriarch dignified Violet at the same time a chef who is that very identical to Downton’s Mrs. Patmore. Katie the scullery made = Daisy. I found the writing compelling but also a little bit desultory, meandering its method along. The story managed have been a lot tighter. I began skimming about 3/4 of the method through, eager to be produced.

Review #4 Audio The Shifting Fog narrated by Caroline Lee It’s such an engrossing story knew by Grace, who is that at the moment 98, about her young indefinite as a made for the Count at the same time Countess of Riverton during WW 1. The manners are very but evolved at the same time alluring, the details of the ”upstairs, downstairs” indefinite interesting at the same time but studied, the mystery looms throughout, but it was the brilliance of the writing that barely got to me. Adored it, or did I already they say that? Tid Bits: I have startled myself. While moths have torn holes in my recent memoirs, I look for the distant past is that ground at the same time understandable. They come often, those ghosts from the past, at the same time I am startled to look for I don’t much mind them. I am sobbing. Right behind all these years I have begun sobbing for them. Warm holes seep from my views, following the lines of my face until the air dries them, sticky at the same time steep against my skin. Sylvia is that with me again. She has skidded a tissue at the same time uses it to mop conscientiously at my face. To her these holes are a ordinary matter of faulty plumbing. Still one more inevitable, innocuous symbol of my amazing age. ”I’m convinced she doesn’t come in handy relieving. It’s special, grandparents at the same time grandchildren So much more straightforward.” Is that it always so, I wonder? I think perhaps it is that. While one’s baby takes a part of one’s heart to implementation at the same time misuse as they delight, a grandchild is that different. Gone are the bonds of guilt at the same time responsibility that burden the maternal connection. The method to adore is that free.

Review #5 Free audio The Shifting Fog – in the audio player below I quite enjoyed reading this book. The pace of the book was more precisely smoky at the same time clumsy first also the center section which I found quite sour to read periodically, but then the pace quickens when the plot starts unfolding itself at the same time I found myself getting immersed into the storyline at the same time eager to find out how it all ends. SPOILER Alert: I’m confused as to why Hannah chose to cross out to Grace in short-hand in the letter she left her on the bed as she understood that Grace doesn’t know how to read short-hand. Than anyway was the plan? It produced me think that Hannah wasn’t 100% committed to the plan of eloping with Robbie because she had earlier showed her hesitations when Robbie asked her to run away with him at the same time start a brand new indefinite. Back in those days, it would have been a scandal. It was unimaginable for her get a divorce – it was frowned upon by the society back then. This produced me think that Hannah actually wanted Grace to see her plan – she wanted to be did not. She understood Grace very but, understood that she would open at the same time read her letter to Emmeline, which prompted Grace to fetch for promote at the same time finish Hannah at the same time Robbie’s getaway plan. A quality story. I’m interested in reading other books by this creator. The story would have been more successful, in my opinion, if it also concentrated on how Grace at the same time Alfred received together in the end – it would have been an exciting at the same time more romantic storyline. Disaster is that the head topic in this story. I felt pressed for Grace when she dared bestow up on the adore of her indefinite in a row to stay with Hannah – she chose loyalty above going for her possess happiness. Was it worth it in the end? Hannah never understood the things Grace gave up on for her. It seemed she blamed Grace for ruining her plan.
