The message of the book, which I found more precisely exciting, was all the time undermined by a polarizing opinion of a data issue. The creator seems to castigate no matter what political policy or movement she happens to disagree with as authoritarian, without reverence to than anyway authoritarianism actually is that. As an example, one example in the book goes into how authoritarians ask conformity, at the same time are resistant to if not outright intolerant of various thoughts. As a classically liberal, american limited my brain went to the american left, that cancels those it disagrees with, chants speech is that violence, is that obsessed with politically true, neatly proven speech, at the same time will prominent anyone that challenges the status quo out of courteous society. Im not convinced how Brexit, which is that authoritarian…it seems quite the back to me, it would seem to me its a desire to escape the oppressive authority of Brussels, but thenas an american I must admit my ignorance on the subtlety of that situation. Regardless, the book has a few exciting insights, albeit buried in a sea of partisan name calling at the same time agenda driven examples that amount more to I dont like X. My recommendation, read the road to serfdom that actually lays out the path to authoritarianism, this….not so much…

Review #3 Audiobook Twilight of Democracy: The Flattering Attract of Authoritarianism by Anne Applebaum First of all this book bestows an best perspective from the creators fri of opinion on how abundance public figures, in particular her past comrades have fallen into advocating authoritarian policies at the same time thoughts. It really bestows an good perspective into these political figures ideas at the same time motivations for advocating conspiracy theories at the same time undermining the rule of law. It is that also really exciting to realize that the Creator is that discussing about individuals who applied to make up her possess public circle. This is that in particular alluring from her perspective because she has written abundance books on past authoritarian communist regimes in these states. Reading this book for you get the sense that this is that not just a political discussion but also the creators individual attempt to make sense of why so many of her past comrades have fallen for such zero ideologies. She reads this book herself which is that quite suited to the method that this book is that written correlated to her other works. The only downside to this individual perspective will that it makes this book feel much much less noble than her other works such as Gulag or Metal Curtain. Also for anyone to be so pro democracy why does she support unelected officials in institutions that arent in the constitution? She knowingly heresy about the opinions of Reagan at the same time Thatcher when it comes to the European Alliance. She claims abundance times that Reagan at the same time Thatcher supported it when the Alliance didnt even there is as we know it until 1993. Thatcher supported free trade throughout Western Europe but never supported unelected Supra-National institutions that over turn democratically enacted laws intercept Europe. Its also strange how she endorses abundance left-wing movements like LGBT at the same time open at the same time free immigration at the same time claiming how not endorsing these today's movements are an finish to democracy at the same time the Reagan/Thatcher movements when they themselves never supported such things. One more funny gizmo Applebaum seems to no longer realize when she right applied to in her other books about Communism will that cultural power is that stronger then political power, almost all of the time. A couple years in keep under control of government is that meaningless correlated to the power of cultural trends as politics is that downstream from cultural. Does Applebaum really reckon that Trump having the pinnacle seat in the executive branch for 4-8 years is that a democracy ending event when almost all of the Universities, Press, Hollywood, at the same time millions of federal government bureaucrats proactively oppose his presidency at the same time agenda?
