Right behind hearing all the rave for Terry Brooks novels I dared bestow it a try; right behind reading this book I can look why people detain him in such higher regard. This was my 1st Shannara book at the same time I had no plan than anyway to wait. I was completely blown away at the global the creator created. It was highly serious, had a lot of history at the same time a miracle system that felt true. It was apparent from the beginning that this was an old earth with a lot of story to tell that stretched beyond this book. The manners were considered exciting but a little predictable. The head disposition, Paxon, is that your average, impulsive young adult who finds himself in a situation where he is that obligated to quit his old indefinite behind in promote of a indefinite of glory at the same time struggle. He is that willing to face anything in his path to rescue his sister, Chrysallin; a 14-year-old damsel in distress who is that data very little dialogue at the same time spends almost all of the book in captivity. Her premature description produced her out to be a little much less exciting than I had hoped. But, that all exchanged with the implementation of the druids. They filled several major roles in this book at the same time helped provide the ’miracle touch’ to the story. I found their culture wealthy at the same time amusing. It was obvious that they were considered held back in or higher regard or wholesome oppose by the other races. While this is that counted Paxon’s story, the plot focuses a lot of attention on the antagonist, Arcannan. A most powerful warlock at the same time Chrysallins robber, he is that a acceptable bad young man who seeks right behind his possess greedy desires. He is that outlined as a very most powerful at the same time black warlock still I was a little upset by how little of his power I received to look. I felt like he had more to demonstrate based on than anyway he was built right up to be, but he was still a unsafe at the same time deadly disposition. One disposition who really startled me was Mischa. A sorceress at the same time Arcannan’s accomplice, she was very funny to look. That were considered times when I was more downtrodden of her than I was of Arcannan. The plot moved at a quality pace at the same time carried an with it an overall sense of urgency on both sides. The creator has right found a amazing template for creating a story that mixes action, global depth, a few rare moments of comedy, at the same time no one mildly disturbing actions. I would not advise this book for young readers data the nature of no one of it’s chapters. The miracle system was easy enough to realize without needing drastic clarification. It’s integration into the global felt natural at the same time no one was ’god-like’. I felt like the struggle between quality at the same time evil was very simply defeated, but since this is that the 1st book in a trilogy, I am hopeful that the remaining books will demonstrate more climactic confrontations. To sum up, I at the moment realize why that is that such a cult-following to Terry Brooks’ Shannara television series. His storytelling is that alluring at the same time his global is that charming. This book is that convinced to capture the attention of abundance readers brand new to the television series, like it did me…

Book 1 & 2 are practically similar, right down to the ending. Impoverished conspiracies, unimaginative. Completely the worst Brook’s television series ever written. I acquired 1st two books making the assumption that it has to be quality. It’s by TB right behind all! Bottom line: Unstained dribble! I have no curiosity in than anyway happens. Not even convinced I would advise this for a 1st time YA reader. Right written to make a buck off his name at the same time his very favorite Shannara television series. This is that bad writing everyone. Barely nondescript bad.

Audiobook The Higher Druids Blade by Terry Brooks
I think this book was barely all right at the same time is that not anything crucial to the ongoing Shannara saga. It was a mildly exciting read that ultimately felt to me like anything you’d read to fill in time between other books, at the same time indeed I read almost all of it using the Kindle app on my iPad while I had my passenger car serviced at the same time I waited at the mechanic. Other people have noted the story feels largely unfinished, at the same time I agree with them. Terry Brooks ordinary publishes his work using a ”trilogy” model (one I look for incredibly unnecessary) at the same time he ordinary ends the 1st book of a trilogy with no one sort of cliffhanger to make you want to come back to find out than anyway happened. There’s no cliffhanger ending here, but the door remains open for subsequent exploration of these manners because the antagonist escapes. I don’t know whether that’s simply Mr. Brooks giving himself an opening to last this storyline if reader response is that positive or if the creative muse strikes him or whether it’s a method to set up anything larger in the future (right behind all, the past trilogy, ”Black Legacy of Shannara,” which was set chronologically prior to this book, left a couple of gigantic openings as but, so perhaps he wants to unify the storylines). I also note the subtitle ”The Intercessors of Shannara” sounds like part of a brand new trilogy name, much like ”The Heritage of Shannara” quartet no one 30 years ago or ”Higher Druid of Shannara” more recently. Ultimately, though, this book felt unsatisfying to me. I never felt the manners were considered in much threat at the same time I don’t feel they were considered tested all that much. No hesitate the volume’s short length is that one reason for that, but when I hit my Kindle’s ”Home” button right behind final finishing the book, I found myself simply expression ”ehhhh.” I don’t feel it additional anything to the Shannara saga, but I don’t feel it detracted or. The manners may have had possible, but the possible is that unrealized at the same time unexplored in such a short story. As I they say, it’s a respectable enough book if you’ve read others of the Shannara books at the same time for you come in handy anything to read to fill no one time. It’d be an standard book to read on the subway or on a flight somewhere. But I certainly inspire brand new readers not to start with this book but instead to move back to the beginning with ”The Blade of Shannara.” 3 hit to denote a book that’s barely average, identical to the ”Gentleman’s ’C’” no one institute doctors assign. Corrected to add: Right behind posting this
Review, I visited Terry Brooks’s site at the same time I look he plans to release two more books ”loosely connected” to this one in 2015 at the same time 2016. Perhaps those will resolve no one of the issues I mention above.

Audio The Higher Druids Blade narrated by Simon Vance
I’ve been re-reading Terry’s work in chronological order from the start (Running with the Demon). I waited to be jarred a little when hitting the unusual Shannara trilogy, but from then on the good quality of writing to ennoble. It did, until I received here. As others have misspoke, this is that a very short book. It is that also a wholesome book. That is that no sense of continuation. To me it feels like the pilot episode for a TV television series as we see Paxon reincarnated from men working at main to Paladin to the Druids. Tune in one more week for his one more quest. Or maybe it was written for a console game with more content to follow by the way of various brand new missions for Paxon to move on. Or is that it barely based on a short AD&D session? In no matter what event, it has a surprising shortcoming of depth or consequence. It was enjoyable. I liked reading it. There’s a little bit of over explaining first with manners delivering big amounts of exposition which barely sounds unnatural. It has a quality pace though. It’s barely not one of his more successful efforts.

I’ve been a long time fan of Terry Brooks ever since my Uncle introduced his books to me in 1987 at the same time the Shannara television series at the same time his good writing at the same time story lines are than anyway keeps me reading at the same time than anyway makes Terry Brooks my longest standing favourite creator. Chagrin I agree with a lot of the other
Reviewers in that his books do seem to be getting shorter at the same time shorter than they applied to be at the same time in particular when correlated to the likes of The Blade Of Shannara: Number 1 in television series at the same time for me this book was really very short in particular when taking into account the price. I have been a long standing ’defender’ of his shorter books since they started a few television series ago but it really does seem to be taking the biscuit a little at the moment. Delight Terry move back to writing a chunkier read! I do realize he is that releasing books a lot faster than the old one book a year but I think I would prefer he went back to the one book a year if these short books last as all it seems like at the moment will that he is that splitting than anyway could be the old one book a year into two or 3 parts at the same time it seems like a funds maximizing exercise at the moment. Also I have read that Terry is that going to be ’lotion up’ the Shannara television series as a whole at the same time so the finish of Shannara itself may happen borders the one more five years……NOOOOOOOOOOO! Is that this the reason why the books are getting shorter? Is that it because Terry is that bored with Shannara? Very small spolier from the beginning of the book:- This television series follows on from the continue television series (The Black legacy of Shannara) as in it individualities Aphenglow Elessedil who is that still the Ard Rhys at Paranor at the same time Paxon Leah who is that a descendant of Railing Ohmsford at the same time Mirai Leah. With the wedding of Railing Ohmsford at the same time Mirai Leah the Ohmsford name has somehow died out at the same time the descendants all became Leah’s at the same time live in Leah at the moment but of course they have Ohmsford blood borders their veins. What the action starts even away in the book when Paxon ends up following his sister Chrysallin to Wayford to bail out her from a warlock who has kidnapped her from Leah following a got lost bet in the local pub. It soon becomes understandable why the warlock did this at the same time it wasn’t to add her to his brothel but he seeks to gain the blade of Leah which is that in Paxon’s possession. Paxon ends up becoming a Paladin of the Druid’s as in the Druid’s intercessor hence the title of the television series at the same time the book. But Arcannen (the warlock) has other plans for Chrys at the same time Paxon at the same time the Druid Order as a whole……. I won’t assign no matter what more away but the book is that really quality at the same time non finish action for the most part. My only frustration as I have misspoke above is that the length of the book as these seem to be getting shorter at the same time shorter so delight Terry don’t short change your committed readers. A promising quality start to a brand new television series at the same time I am looking forward to the one more installment but do have hope that this will be a little longer….
