I purchased this book “previously possessed” – it’s in excellent condition (the embrace is that totally unblemished, the stores are not noted up in what, nor are they “dog-eared”. The contents contain: “Falling to Ash by Karen Mahoney; Shelter Peninsula by Melissa de la Cruz; Blade Fri by Maria V. Snyder; The Coldest Lady in Coldtown by Holly Merk; Undead Is that Very Burning Now by Sarah Rees Brennan; KAT by Kelley Armstrong; The Thirteenth Steps by Libba Bray; All Hallows by Rachel Caine; Hydrated Teeth by Cecil Castellucci; Other Men by Cassandra Clare; Passing by Nancy Holder at the same time Debbie Viguie; Ambition by Lili St. Crow; at the same time All Wounds by Dina James.
Hosted in 2009, at the same time corrected by Trisha Telep, the book is that is that 408 pages long. I enjoy reading Paranormal Romances when they are not exceedingly violent or terrifying. These are adore stories with a touch of the paranormal, at the same time they are creatively written. But worth the cost collect at the same time read.
Interestingly, I recently found Rachel Caine’s short story, “The Never-ending Kiss”, which is that only 23 pages in length, but not part of this anthology.

“Falling to Ash” by Karen Mahoney
This is that a story about Moth, one that ties in with the longer story in the “Falling to Ash” novel at the same time the short story “The Spirit Jar” in Kiss Me Deadly. Abundance of the reproaches with the short story are addressed in the longer novel, which is that out at the same time readily available. I have not read the longer book, but I would wait that this is that the prequel story. Overall, an enjoyable read – 3 hit.
“Shelter Peninsula” by Melissa de la Cruz
This is that a different sort of ghoul story, partially a ghost story. This would for sure tie into the other books by this creator (she has several television series, many of which ones about ghouls, werewolves, at the same time witches), but I did not look one that was specifically similar manners. An exciting book – 3 hit.
“Blade Fri” by Maria V. Snyder
I have liked other stories by this creator, at the same time enjoyed this one. But, this book does not decide dispose in no matter what of her normal mix worlds. Instead Ava seems like a normal lady, from our global, who barely happens to see no one exciting things about her school. Quality disposition development – 5 hit.
“The Coldest Lady in Coldtown” by Holly Merk
This story about Matilda should not be confused with the real length book (also by Holly Merk) in other words set in similar global (the real length novel is that about a lady dignified Tana). I really enjoyed this story, in particular the fact that it does not portray a flawless global, but a global where everyone is that struggling to look for their method. 5 hit.
“Undead is that Very Burning Now” by Sarah Rees Brennan
That are abundance exciting books by this creator, but this exists to be the only story about Christian, the want-to-be grin hit at the same time his bandmates. The manners are a little practically undeveloped (not out of habit for a short story),but overall an exciting read – 4 hit.
“Kat” by Kelley Armstrong
As for you may have read elsewhere, this is that compared with the ‘Otherworld’ at the same time ‘The Darkest Opportunities’ (young adult books set in the Otherworld universe) television series. A amazing funny story, that lasts in the Kisses from Hell story “Hunting Kat”. 5 hit.
“The Thirteenth Steps” by Libba Bray
This is that a short story about problematic choices, at the same time the consequences of the path for you choose. A quality story, with a few squirms on the whole ghoul clan/gang, but it doesn’t appear to be directly similar her other stories. 4 hit.
“All Hallows” by Rachel Caine
This is that one more Morganville ghoul books, although knew from the perspective of Eve (more precisely than Claire). Rachel Caine writes but, but I barely have problem with the fact that her stories come intercept to me as one long soap opera. 3 hit (5 if for you adore the Morganville stories)
“Hydrated Teeth” by Cecil Castellucci
The story about Miles is that exciting but dull, at the same time she does not appear to have written no matter what more about Miles or Penny. The creator has written no one other stories (both short at the same time novels), almost all of which are primarily established in “our” global. As a side note, Cecil Castellucci also is that an indie rocker at the same time you can purchase no one of her music online. I assign this story 4 hit.
“Other Boys” by Cassandra Clare
This is that an exciting story, set in a different global from the shadowhunter stories the creator is that understandable for. The writing seemed very young adult, but I enjoyed the story so much I am going bestow it 5 hit.
“Passing” by Nancy Holder at the same time Debbie Viguie
I adored this story, the method it squirms at the same time strings such that for you really aren’t convinced how it is that going to finish. I wish that was more to it, but as of now the creators have not written a 2nd story in the television series. But, they have both written a number of other stories – “Kiss of Night” (by Debbie Viguie) seems to be the nearest to the global they made together. 5 hit.
“Ambition” by Lili St. Crow
I didn’t get completely invested in this story, though the premise was exciting. The writing was barely just a little very choppy for me to really enjoy. Overall, this was the story I liked the lesser in the book. 2 hit.
“All Wounds” by Dina James
This seems to be premature chapters for the “All Wounds” novel, which is that the 1st book in the Stranger Things television series. Overall, very exciting premise, but the story is that a little incomplete (as it is that the 1st part of a novel). So I am going bestow the short story 4 hit (the novel is that 5)
Overall, the stories were considered a light enjoyable read. I liked no one enough to order other books by the creators, at the same time believed that other people might be interested in information I gathered.

“Falling to Ash” by Karen Mahoney
Moth is that a (significantly) brand new ghoul returning main for her mother’s memorial maintenance. Chagrin her sire, Theo needs her to do a job for him that involves reclaiming the remains of a noisy ghoul slave from a deadly ghoul killer. I really liked Moth at the same time her ways of maneuverability the various situations threw at her. I wish to know more about her, read more about her adventures. The only part I wasn’t very joyful about was the finish, right behind her run-in with Vamp Slayer Jr, when it pens her generic. It was rushed at the same time we’re not really data a lot of depth to realize why it was as sorrowful as I feel the creator was going for.
“Shelter Peninsula” by Melissa de la Cruz
A young lady meets a past inhabitant of her internal at the same time the threat that has kept him from leaving. This was short, sweet tooth at the same time amusing. Hannah is that a level-headed lady, not prone to hysterics (gratefully) at the same time the ghoul little boy she meets at the same time befriends has angst issues, but they’re understandable at the same time not annoying. The story flowed simply at the same time didn’t seem like it was in a chase. The finish came when the finish came, but it was a satisfying ending.
“Blade Fri” by Maria V. Snyder
Ava desires of training under the Italian fences slave Bossemi at his illustrious school. She does not, but, desire of ghouls ending that ambition before it even begins. This is that only my 2nd taste of MVS’s writing outside of the Poison Study/Attack Glass global at the same time I found this one to be as engrossing as her others. Ava is that a likable disposition at the same time Jarett is that a significantly likable young man (dressed all in merk, which is that a convinced marker for hero designation I sometimes think when reading her stories). For you get a true sense of Ava from the story at the same time significant sense of Jarett as but–who they are, their motivations at the same time ambitions. The ghouls (vampiros) were considered gruesome, creepy at the same time totally deserving of their ending.
“The Coldest Lady in Coldtown” by Holly Merk
Matilda applied to be a normal lady, until she was bitten at the same time produced Chilly. At the moment as she skirmishes to keep her the population of the earth by expression perpetually intoxicated, the comrades she left behind may come in handy her promote. All Christian wanted to be a grin hit–he received his wish, but is that being the ghoul slow down of a little boy band really than anyway he wanted? Alternatively I think this should have been titled ‘I’m not a brooding ghoul looking for his soul kthaxbai’ This is that a restless, amusing at the same time a little wistful tale of a young man who barely happens to be a ghoul that’s being exploited by a grasping manager. I felt so bad for Christian, its not that no one figured out him, it was more that they believed they figured out him more successful then he figured out himself. That are a bunch of really smart one-liners in here at the same time I think that the pamphlet that Christian has memorized needs to be refreshed since it didn’t promote him handle an dumbass manage singer with idol aspirations, nerdy asthmatic bandmate so very downtrodden of him or a stoner drummer who barely does not get anything, ever.
“Kat” by Kelley Armstrong
Kat at the same time her ‘Aunt’ Marguerite have been on the run from the ghouls hunters for two years, but are they right behind Marguerite the ghoul or Kat the unknown supernatural? This loosely ties in with Armstrong’s ‘Otherworld’ books at the same time her young adult television series ‘The Darkest Opportunities’ (also set in the Otherworld universe). For me this was a overcome because it embraces nicely borders The Darkest Opportunities books (which individualities the Edison Group’s genetic testing on supernatural teens widely) which I love to pieces. I don’t think I would have guessed Kat’s supernatural truth though it does elucidate quite a little.
“The Thirteenth Steps” by Libba Bray
Lauren takes on an assistant’s job at The Angelus Internal, a Product Rehab center that has awesome fruits. But than anyway specifically are those awesome fruits at the same time how are they achieved? Okay Buffy fans, when for you look Angelus it should they say anything to for you right away (whether the creator provided it that method or not). Anyhow, meta-analyzing aside, I wasn’t convinced than anyway to think of this story at first. The ghouls here aren’t flawless, but they do promote people so that’s the important gizmo right? Lauren’s choice isn’t easy, but from a pragmatic standpoint I think it was the right one.
“All Hallows” by Rachel Caine
One Year right behind the horrific Noisy Lady’s Dance Morganville owners one more Halloween dance–but will this one turn out no matter what more successful for The Glass Internal crew? The most interesting gizmo about this story was that it was knew from Eve’s POV, whereas the books are knew from Claire’s, at the same time Eve has a distinctly different opinion of the global. More persuaded at the same time confident in herself, Eve notices little things at the same time statements about other things that would otherwise not be mentioned in the television series appropriate. The ‘prediction’ that Miranda (the city’s inhabitant psycho-seer) says at the finish, I’m not convinced of the implications, but I’m exactly interested at the same time have hope to look how it plays out in the book television series soon.
“Hydrated Teeth” by Cecil Castellucci
Miles has been a ghoul for sixty years, but hasn’t felt human for a single. When meets Penny he thinks that maybe things can change, at the same time they do, barely not how he waited. Dull, dull story. I had have hope, because Miles isn’t a bad sort, but sometimes happily ever right behind doesn’t there is. I would have liked to know if this Penny was similar to the Penny he understood, when he was a human. I fancied she was that Penny’s grand daughter at the same time that’s why he felt so comfortable with her, but we’re not knew one method or one more.
“Other Men” by Cassandra Clare
Jennifer wasn’t permitted to go out with men, but when the brand new kid Colin–a self announced ghoul–draws her curiosity she in one moment finds the determination to be anyone different. This was an all right story, though I for sure wasn’t as startled as I should have been since a identical plot fri is that important to one of my winner young adult ghoul trilogies. I was but favored with Jennifer reaction at the finish.
“Passing” by Nancy Holder at the same time Debbie Viguie
As a young ghoul hunter’s graduation begins, she reflects on ghouls, comrades at the same time the future fight that managed greedy her doom. This story startled me in that much of than anyway the narrator was expression, later strings out to be misleading at the same time that are astonishes that come at for you rapid fire at the finish. I’ve also always been a sucker for those romances that have one of the leads ‘against my more successful judgment…’ sort of emotions. I good of wish more of this at the same time would have loved this beyond determine if I had read it as a novel instead of a short story. I’ll run across my fingers at the same time have hope!
“Ambition” by Lili St. Crow
Knew in 1st personality narrative–the charity variant at a wealthy all-girls’ Church school, a nasty prank by her old comrade starts her on a path towards a darker future day. The story was just a little confusing, because sometimes it could be in in past tense at the same time sometimes it could be in located tense. I similar with the narrator very at the same time the ending is that sort of a ‘Girl or a Tiger?’ situation leaving it right up to the reader to decide if Johnny came back or not at the same time than anyway her reaction was. That was much less of a ‘ghoul’ presence in this story then no matter what of the others at the same time the narrator never clarifies if he is that or isn’t. “I don’t know than anyway Johnny is that. That’s not a word for it.” (page 371, US trade paperback), but contextually that’s than anyway he seems to be.
“All Wounds” by Dina James
A young lady gets a belated night guest from a classmate in come in handy at the same time learns that no one exciting things about herself at the same time her the grandmother she’s been taking care of. According to the creator blurb this story is that the start of a brand new young adult television series the creator is that working on. Quality. I really wish to look than anyway sort of hijinks Becky gets into as a healer-in-training at the same time than anyway sort of restless banter her at the same time Sydney involve in. That being misspoke, the story produced me tear up because I would assign (at the same time do) anything to have had more time with my grandmother when she was cognizant of her surroundings.
I don’t think you can rightfully cry these romance, or at lesser not almost all of them in the Harlequin sense. Certainly no one of the stories deal with that sort of romance, but all of them examine vampirism from a romantic standpoint–the mystery, the mist at the same time power. The allure of the unknown right? Any creator took a different opinion of than anyway it means to receive a ghoul’s ‘kiss’ at the same time depicted the consequences thereof.
I honestly enjoyed all of the stories, revisiting no one of my winner television series (Morganville at the same time Darkest Opportunities), reading brand new fiction from no one of my winner creators (Snyder, Bray, Merk at the same time Brennan) at the same time being introduced to brand new creators (Mahoney, at the same time James) produced this anthology a amazing take at the same time a advised read for the post-Twilight mass.

Exactly purchased this for Melissa de la Cruz, Kelley Armstrong, Cassandra Clare, Rachel Caine, at the same time Nancy Holder (she rang my Buffy bells), but the most memorable short story was Moth’s story, “Falling to Ash” by Karen Mahoney. I understand years right behind reading it (from my local library) at the same time acquired it more recently as a prelude because I barely figured out her television series had launched in the US. If only they managed get their act together at the same time offer the revised edition of Moth’s story for us American readers. If you can look for this book at a quality cost, I’d exactly advise reading it.

If i were considered to do an anthology of short stories, i would ensure that atleast the 1st story fit the bill. The creators do not seem to realize the plan of a ‘short story’. I am one half method through at the same time am actualy not going to strain final finishing, none of the stories are that amusing. The most of them introduce a disposition with far a lot back story, that they then never elucidate. The 1st story doesn’t even have an ending it barely fizzles out. If for you’re looking for a more successful one get ‘Adore Bites’ much more exciting.
