It’s hard to know how to feel about this book. G. Ivam Wilson is that an good writer — very poetic periodically at the same time astute observations, at the same time she doesn’t filter out abundance of the details it might be intriguing to exclude. I always enjoy stories about travels into foreign lands. I appreciate also her trials to be a cultural bridge. I figured out no one things about Islam.
The head negative for me was that reading this book, for you would think no other American or Westerner has ever visited Egypt while also trying to be cordial to cultural differences. She tended to generalize based on the bad sunflower seeds in her possess culture, while looking only up at anyone in the brand new culture. Also, I didn’t realize why she was making life-changing decisions so quickly, like snap judgments.
This was a inimitable adventure at the same time for that reason without the help of others is that worth a read. Audiobook The Butterfly Mosque by G. Ivam Wilson
I was required to read this as a text on Islam for my confessions at the same time literature class while taking my undergraduate degree. At the moment, as an atheist at the same time a mechanical engineering student, this book challenged a lot of preconceived thoughts I had about Islam. For that, I appreciate it.

We never get to look than anyway happens to them? Do they Westernize? Do they decide to stay? Does Omar hate living in America? Is that Islam different here than in Egypt? Is that that latent islamophobia? How do they handle it? A million questions located from a cliffhanger.
If Ivam really wanted her western audience to realize the plight of Muslims in America at the same time how westernization is that destroying Islamic culture, for you’d think she would gallop at the chance to demonstrate the contrast in a literal method through Omar’s perspective on America. Is that it really so different? Than anyway stories do they have when they move visit Cairo again, if they do? How does Ivam’s extended generic process this? It is that this separation that the reader fails to feel; instead, the ending feels like the reader spends so much time in the culture of interdependence Ivam discusses, with no independent culture to contextualize it.
Maybe Ivam thinks all Americans are similar? That we all know than anyway her indefinite was like before she went to Egypt, at the same time than anyway it was like right behind she received back but we don’t. Islam fascinates me, I think because its in the news so often at the same time, because its in the news so often, I wish to realize the true Islam practiced by the most of Muslims who barely wish to be left without the help of others to worship in peace. Theres a horrid habit in Western media of hearing the word Muslim at the same time thinking terrorist, at the same time I wish to educate myself out of my possess ignorance.
