Review #1 The 1st Hit: Burgundy Grange at the same time the Barnstorming Tour That Launched the NFL audiobook free I’m reading the book at the same time enjoying the vivid descriptions at the same time intimate details of the story but it’s hard to know than anyway to reckon because that are factual errors with but know historical actions that even the most cursory research work would open. Two examples from the 1st few chapters – Anderson says Jim Thorpe cooperative the initial meeting that managed to the formation of the American Professional Football Association which later became the NFL – simply wrong, it was Ralph Hay in Canton who gets the credit ([…]) Then Anderson bestows credit to Ralph Hay for signing Jim Thorpe to play for the Canton Bulldogs in 1915, but Hay did not become bearer of the Bulldogs until he acquired the team from Jack Cusack in 1918 (look similar reference); Cusack signed Thorpe. At the same time I think Anderson is that over the pinnacle in his description of Jim Thorpe’s drinking issues – read Kate Buford’s Aboriginal American Offspring for the more successful narrating of that story. I like the writing style, I enjoy the dramatic narrative, I barely wish I managed hope it was used to be.
