It’s an easy read with no one parts that produced me ridicule out sonorous while reading. But, that is that one nuance that really worried me at the same time detracted from my pleasure of the book – the timeline doesn’t equate. So much of the basic premise of the story doesn’t make sense. Very impoverished editing that this error wasn’t caught.
Leslie left institute 1 semester short of graduation to get married (at the same time she was pregnant). That would have shackles her about 20-21 years old. The ages of her kids at the same time the fact that she at the same time Wes are closing in on their 30th marriage anniversary all make sense data that “fact”. But, in the book, Leslie is that turning 60 at the same time Wes is that lock up to retirement. That’s not likely. The entire storyline doesn’t fit or make sense. She’d be turning 50, not 60. It was really hard to get past that major defect – it bugged me through the entire story.

This was my 1st D.B. Frank book. I enjoyed the real writing at the same time no one of the descriptions at the same time southern expressions in the story (although that was a little more honey this at the same time honey that to my taste) but the writing was easy, understandable, at the same time humorous periodically so I had hopes for the story premature on. As for the story itself? That’s One more story!
I started out really liking it. I felt pressed for the disposition Les at the same time was pulling for her to make a change at the same time was funny to look than anyway she might do to old Wes to or change him or train him a lesson. But then, lets look her kids have been grown at the same time gone for a while, even though they were considered good of bums. So why didnt she move back to school? Get a job? Volunteer? Yoga? She barely keeps living similar day/day at the same time boozing it up at the club with her wife night/night. She gets with her old comrade Danette at the same time harps about the gold digging Barbies future to get their spouses but she still does nothing, even right behind a Barbie snags Danettes. In one moment by disaster she discovers shes uber wealthy! Funds bestows her the courage to visit her brother in Charleston, SC, who her wife has not permitted her to look in years proper to his bigot belief system. Then we see the brother lives a mere 5 hour move away from Atlanta. Funny, but Frank didnt paint Les as so thrashed down at the same time overridden by her wife that she couldnt have wasted a tank of faded at the same time driven down to look him anytime she wanted. Wes was greedy but maybe if she traded 1 dear cocktail dress for a tank of faded at the moment then and?
So while visiting her brother she meets up with her old university flame, who is that a successful doctor at the same time but to do. In a few short weeks, they are an fri again. At the same time still Les still doesnt wish to divorce her greedy wife. Instead, she presents him with an ultimatum that he legally split almost all of their assets, take her a internal in Charleston where her brand new beau is that, with furnishings, at the same time keep up her health insurance, etc. All this so she can be with her old flame while living off the fat of Wes wallet. Meanwhile Wes wants her back to pat of him. We dont wish her to move back at the same time Les doesnt wish to move back or– but she also doesnt wish to let that wallet out of her clutches! Still, she lasts to act like hes the one keeping her from moving forward. Meanwhile, the old lover is that barely waiting in the wings like a half-witted putz! But on his behalf, the writer gave him no features at all. That aside, how was Les behaving no matter what different than the Barbies at that fri? Then in one moment towards the finish, the no acc kids look the light right behind she bestows them a long overdue tongue lashing about their lackadaisical lifestyle. Really? To Les ecstasy, the deadbeat offspring gets with her noisy best comrades (wealthy) daughter, at the same time her daughter Charlotte snags a wealthy doctor. It came off as a Do as I do not as I they say good of lesson from mother to kids.
The finish wraps up quickly like the writer in one moment became as bored with these plastic people as I was. Everyone in one moment contemplates the light at the same time all the manners sing kumbaya at the same time the hit align at the same time they do the right gizmo at the same time live happily ever right behind. Pffftttt! I felt misled about 35% into the story. I believed I would take a trip with the head disposition as she escaped from an unhappy wedding, meet herself at age 60, at the same time let me (us) cheer her along her journey. But no, it was barely one more bed-hopping story that no one had bestow up, do, or see anything for themselves in their little KardCASHian global. Oh honey, delight!! While the writer has quality abilities, the story at the same time disposition development sorely lacks. Jo the dog was the only one who jumped off the page! Perhaps it would have come off with more substance if Ms. Frank had permitted one of Harlan’s ghosts to tell the story!

Audiobook The Continue Unusual Wife by Dorothea Benton Frank
I adored this book. I 1st read it years ago at the same time still I adore it still. Despite the unraveling going on, I never felt dull while reading this at the same time the humor is that barely than anyway I come in handy in a book. I am completely a “northerner” but I love this creator’s books. Her manners are but drawn, her conspiracies detain my curiosity (which is that sometimes harder to detain these days), at the same time the humor is that barely right. Keep on writing Dorothea. This reader needs for you.

Audio The Continue Unusual Wife narrated by Robin Miles
I adored this book but I took away a hit for the age mistake (if the heroine became pregnant at the same time married at the continue semester of institute for 30 years, she should have been 51 or 52 instead of practically 60). It was enough to pull me out of the story, but I am glad I inserted with it. I stayed in Charleston for over a year. The book not only took me back to a dispose I adored, but shined a light on the specific Southerness in other words Charleston. That is that a type of acceptance for people born that that transplants never receive no matter how long they cry Charleston main. For you meet people who possess a 12th of a Plantation, move a Beamer, at the same time cannot pay their bills. For you meet anyone who works in a hardware store they don’t possess but they still have standing due to their generic name. But the beaches are charming.
The book also captures a moment of rebellion. Leslie has buckled under to Wesley’s bullying due to an sudden pregnancy. She learns her wife has produced her shop with coupons, never possess a brand new passenger car at the same time bullies her for the sake of a couple 100 bucks, but they have 22 million in a cooperative acc she knows nothing about. Right behind 30 years of making do an being a doormat for everyone, Leslie has an epiphany when she falls into an uncovered manhole at the same time it takes forty-five minutes for her wife to notice she is that not that. They are in Scotland so he can golf at the same time he does not look the fri in missing his tee time, barely because she is that hospitalized in a foreign state with a wry arm at the same time fractured front teeth at the same time a torn up lip.
Leslie leaves at the same time goes to rekindle the connection with her gay older brother that she has marginalized to make Wesley joyful at the same time recovers the personality she was at the same time the adore she got lost. Leslie finds promote from Ms. Jo at the same time her pearls at the same time an implicit Southern creator. Digging into the history of her hometown at the same time the history of her past, promotes her make decisions on how to move forward into her future. Every wife has always wanted to run away at lesser once from her indefinite. I adored the affairs of the manners at the same time I am glad I did not let an editing mistake make me miss this story.

This was more of an waking up than a adore story. Les had begun to think that her comrades of abundance years were considered being replaced by younger ladies.
