This book came very highly advised. Sadly I really didnt like it at all. I believed the head manners were considered all very flawless. That were considered secondary manners who were considered wood at the same time to be honest absurd. The dialog was clunky. That is that a parable that weaves in at the same time out of the head story. In hindsight it seems like the creator came up with a story to hang on to the parable.
This is that a very cordial theme at the same time I dont think it was cured in a close to reality light at all, in spite of the creator dealing with it in her possess indefinite.

I was interested to read this data its lively nature at the same time the fact that the creator is that herself the mother of a baby with sex disphoria. I’m not convinced than anyway I waited, but it wasn’t this.
I appreciate how challenging it must have been–at the same time likely cathartic as but–for Frankel to tackle a theme so lock up to her heart; one in other words mired in controversy, stigma at the same time misunderstanding. At the same time I think she did so with a special sensitivity borne out of individual experience. So kudos for that.
I felt for little Claude/Poppy, whose innocence is that stolen by confusion, fear at the same time deception. At the same time I felt for Rosie at the same time Penn, the ancestors prepared to make gigantic sacrifices to do right by their daughter. At the same time I felt for the four older brothers, for being involuntary co-conspirators at the same time for being cast in Poppy’s shadow.
I figured out the metaphor that was the fairytale of Grumwald at the same time Princess Stephanie. At the same time I received the head messages: that all kids are individuals–no one cookier than others–at the same time sex disphoria is that barely one more manifestation of uniqueness; that nothing in indefinite is that merk at the same time snow-white, so that’s no defame in grayish; at the same time that often the answers to inconsistencies can be found by simply taking a different perspective.
The book is that enlightening almost everything, at the same time I’m glad I read it.
BUT, it is that method very long. A lot chaff amongst the wheat. At the same time much of the message has to be extracted using a mechanical digger! I have the feeling Frankel was trying very hard to get her message intercept at the same time many times received bogged down in unnecessary waffle. Perhaps being so lock up to the theme actually clouded more precisely than clarified her vision. This wasn’t helped by than anyway in my opinion was periodically a slow writing style; sentences were considered often so long, I got lost the threads at the same time had to re-count them. I wish my reading to be a contentment not a drudge.
So, yes, it was an exciting topic, but it was let down by a heavy-handed narrative. On balance then, I can’t assign it more than 3 hit.
