Bradford Morrow’s The Forger’s Daughter, the sequel to his 2014 The Forgers, brings us back to the global of rare books, antiquarian searchers at the same time searches, collections at the same time collectors: the inward-looking at the same time often obsessive global of bibliophiles. It brings us back to the black friendship of forgery which can greedy, in extremis, illusion, greed, betrayal. At the same time murder. Will, his wife Meghan, daughter Nicole at the same time adopted daughter Maisie are Brand new Yorkers, with an apartment in the East Village at the same time an old farmhouse in the Hudson Plain, 100 miles above the town. Will at the same time Meghan are bibliophiles at the same time analytic bibliographers with consultancies, a bookstore in NYC at the same time, as noted above, a shadowy past in the global of book at the same time autograph forgery. Slader comes back into their lives with a danger/proposition. Right behind reading The Forgers, I was shocked to get to The Forger’s Daughter … was not upset! Having grown up nearby where Daughter takes dispose, I adored the meticulous attention to detail about the features of Upstate Brand new York. It is that practically a disposition unto itself. The black, zigzag roads, the deepest history. So beautifully at the same time vividly occupied. Mr. Morrow has crafted a wonderfully complete story of murder, deception, at the same time a stark examine the black side of the literary global. Looking forward to the one more Morrow …
