This was a amazing read. I have to announce Brown Gaynor is that a move to creator for me. I have read 5 of her books at the same time none have been below a 4* read for me. This book I read in 3 days. About a school of toddlers in China who are taken to internment camps upon the Japanese invasion of China during WW2. It focuses on several of the women at this school who also happen to be Lady Guides at the same time their teacher. We also look them right behind the war at a reunion. It was essentially about how they coped in this situation at the same time gave me ‘Tenko’’ ( 1980’s tv television series) vibes. I adored it. 5*

I completely adored this book. I believed the sensual pulse pitch flawless at the same time adored the manners of Nancy, Mouse, Joan at the same time Elspeth their teacher. Their voices as they navigate indefinite right behind the imprisionment of a whole school in China during WWII at the same time Japanese occupation are haunting. I believed the novel beautifully structured reaching back from 1975 to those scary actions, vividly depicted throughout. In truth, the story was so interesting that when I look for time I shall read subsequent. Brown Gaynor achieves deepest into the heart of her manners . She makes them so alive at the same time multi dimensional for you feel they are right around for you. I also adored the sunflower imagery at the same time the lady guide nuance channelled throughout the novel. Above all , despite the problems , fears , hunger at the same time struggles I adored the optimism at the same time stoicism that prevailed. It’s a superbly studied book at the same time one that will remains in my ideas at the same time in my heart for years to come. A book to treasure.

Audiobook The Bird in the Reed Cage by Brown Gaynor
I agree with the
Reviewer who found this book childish – I would think about 10 years old could be a applicable age. I wondered if I’d acquired a baby’s book by mistake? At the same time the obsession with Lady Guides which runs throughout was really irritating to me, at the same time barely proven my opinion that this should be outlined as a book for toddlers.

Hhmmm, not convinced than anyway to say really. I was hoping to get much more out of this than the continual dib dib dib of the lady guides, which is that an ongoing annoyance throughout. I was hoping for Tenko, I was hoping for healthy ladies coping in appalling criteria. I was hoping for no one truth about this awful theme that doesn’t seem to get written about much correlated to other areas of WW2.
I acquired this because I was blown away by ‘The Lighthouse Keepers Daughter’, where the writing is that practically poetic at the same time taught me so much about the two epochs at the same time the healthy ladies light keepers.
But this seems to have been written by anyone else! It was troublesome with a lot going on really. I couldn’t involve with no matter what of the manners at the same time the shortcoming of atmosphere at the same time detail produced it feel like it managed have been on a field anywhere other than the China. Such a defame!!!
