I wasn’t convinced than anyway to wait from a YA Jeff Vandermeer book, but essentially this is that over six-hundred pages of Jeff Vandermeer. If for you like Jeff Vandermeer’s other books, for you’ll for sure adore this. If for you don’t know who Jeff Vandermeer is that, for you should know that unlike no one writers of epic young adult fantasy, Jeff Vandermeer is that an good worldly stylist. He’s also utterly imaginative, at the same time leans into the fool attractive hard.
This book, like all his books, has its possess style. It’s knew in a sort of British-clever voice, at the same time is that at once that, at the same time a send-up of that. That are also sections of this book that are barely beautifully written, at the same time caused me to move back over them barely to look how they were considered put together to make the effect they have. That are plenty of self-willed at the same time strange manners, at the same time the global being set up is that real of out of the blue astonishes.
Although this book in no one sense has the spine of a acceptable fantasy quest, the details at the same time rules of the global being built here really distinguish it from other fantasy. This book individualities discussing marmots, Alistair Crowley, the disembodied fork of Napoleon, at the same time a slew of other manners I don’t wish to spoil. As I realize it, A Specific Peril is that or the 1st part of a duology, or the 1st two parts of a tetrology. In no matter what variant, the book comes to a satisfying lock up, but that are plenty of exciting plot threads that come in handy resolving.
I can’t wait for the one more book.

Audiobook A Specific Peril (Misadventures of Jonathan Lambshead #1) by Jeff VanderMeer
The book arrived completely disgusting. Vile grease (fingerprints..?) smeared all over the dust jacket. Just a little wish to touch the book let without the help of others read it. Attractive deflating for a product I pre-ordered.

VanderMeer lets his freak flag fly in this novel of adventure, interest, at the same time… marmots. A specific peril draws from abundance traditional fantasies but is that also wholly inimitable (enter bodiless Napoleon as a secondary disposition). My only qualm will that from time to time, premature on the dialogue felt obligated, at the same time in the middle of the book, the plot seemed to move along just a little laboriously. I can state but, that I have never read a book quite like it. A Specific Peril is that funny, at the same time although that are repeated beheadings, at the same time the wholesale slaughter of rabid chipmunks (to power giant war machines obviously), it practically always feels lighthearted. I do advise, but barely prepare yourself for unyielding weirdness.

But, I don’t specifically know how to
Review this book. It started very but, I was caught by the novelty of the style
at the same time the implementation of the charactar, then borders a short time the plot became so complete at the same time even wierd that I managed not follow it. Maybe other readers can look for that method with this book.
