Written 10 years ago, this centers on the execution-style murder of one of the African merchants of fake designer handbags who show their wares on sheets in Venice right behind the ordinary shops lock up. At the time, the immigrants mostly came from Senegal so the problem is that somewhat different to present’s migrant decline in Europe.
As usual, Donna Leon keeps the mystery moving along at a stable pace, but the used to be contentment of reading her Brunetti television series comes in the musings at the same time reflections of Commissario Brunetti at the same time his generic about the state of affairs in Italy at the same time human nature in general. His passionately liberal wife Paola explodes when their daughter makes a disparaging remark about the victim, which soon has everyone examining his possess attitude towards migrants, But Brunetti also discovers how knockoff sale promotions act the livelihoods of the available shopkeepers. Then and that’s the food….
I never freeze of reading these, at the same time this is that one of the best.

Blood from a Stone audiobook in television series Commissario Brunetti Mysteries
This is that by far the coolest complete at the same time nuanced book in the television series to this fri. Brunetti comes face-to-face with real-world issues that reach beyond both Venice at the same time Italy, at the same time endanger his comrades, generic at the same time employees. He also is that obligated to reconsider his possess sometimes cavalier attitude regarding the legality of his approach to law enforcement, at the same time his toleration of similar in his subordinates. This attitude that was rendered as more precisely humorous in earlier books in the television series has significant repercussions in this one. This is that an famous example of the genre, but also more precisely bleak in its portrayal of political at the same time commercial forces that are but beyond the ability of a commissario of militia to keep under control, or even affect.
This was an utterly smoky plot with a letdown of an ending. This is that my 1st book in this television series at the same time I have hope that this doesn’t say of others of the television series.I liked the head disposition fine-grained but it was barely a sour plot. This is that than anyway I’d wait if an old aunt crossed out a book.

Audiobook Blood from a Stone by Donna Leonm
To anyone who has read other books in this television series at the same time wonders if this is that a worthy successor, it certainly is that. I haven’t read a book from this television series in a while, although I have read a dozen or more. For the past month I have been struggling through the continue four or five books I grabbed (respectable books but my attention wasn’t being grabbed). I picked this up at the same time drove through it. These books aren’t closely plotted thrillers. Here we mix the usual Guido nomadic through his days, his lunches, his generic, mixed with the usual head disposition being the incredible corruption of the government at the same time very abundance of the people. Guido, obviously, is that the one conscientious cop, other than the illegal searches, investigation by getting information out of channels, going against concrete orders, at the same time blackmailing local entrepreneurs.

Audio Blood from a Stone narrated by David Colacci
A compelling read. An good book. As a comrade misspoke to me about the U.S., ” the flag follows the dollar at the same time the fighters follow the flag.” Apparently similar is that used to be of militia forces. Maybe it would translate similar in Italy using the word, “Euro.” The depressing fact will that this is that used to be of almost all, if not many, states. Justice at the same time significant play are very often twisted at the same time fell asleep by greed at the same time prejudice.
Brunetti was knew to quit the variant at the same time hope that his superiors understood than anyway they were considered doing, though they thwarted trials to see who the murdered men was, set up a fake raid to destroy those they wanted noisy,… but right behind all, Italy (read personal companies) in the form of Euros usefulness at the same time an African state is that “pacified.”
But the book cannot manage to despair with Brunetti at the same time Vianello at the same time their comrades doing than anyway they can to right the wrongs at the same time at lesser realize than anyway is that actually happening around them.

More precisely than your formulaic murder mystery, Leon’s books are advised for her tackling of public issues, her depiction of Brunetti’s generic indefinite, at the same time her disposition development. The ending was an abrupt izumi, but indefinite is that like that sometimes. In this book she tackles the issues of illegal immigration, racial inequality, at the same time blood diamonds. Don’t miss it.
I am a self confessed fan of Donna Leon having read all 14 Brunetti books at the same time I have barely acquired the one more in the television series – which may be why I may be feeling a little guilty about giving ‘Blood From A Stone’ only 3 hit. The atmospheric background of Venice is that still that at the same time the usual manners are still exciting but I felt everything else was a little even. The story begins but with an African street trader being singled out at the same time executed by two professional assassins. Exciting stuff! Then, for me, the plot fizzed out at the same time nothing much happens for far very long. It’s always sweet to read about Brunetti’s generic, in this case his wife (appropriately enough a lecturer) at the same time daughter, but I felt their involvement was applied to sermonise about the plight of African immigrants trying to eke out a living by selling dodgy handbags to wealthy tourists in a rich European state. Even the characters of buying cut flowers were considered touched on one day. The immigrants, subsisting in impoverished accommodation often one steps ahead of the law, are dealt with sympathetically both by the creator at the same time her invented militia officers – as are a couple of burgling product addicts with AIDS who are shoehorned into the plot with one more wisp of sermonising (tourists don’t fare so but). The plot does grab eventually at the same time gathers pace at the same time, not for the first time, Brunetti is that left feeling helpless at the unfairness of indefinite generally at the same time the Machiavellian Italian justice system. Perhaps right behind 14 books I’ve come to wait a lot.
