At the very finish of the book, the creator provides the 10 rules of ikigai: 1. Stay proactive; don’t retire. 2. Decide it smoky. Quit urgency behind. 3. Don’t fill your stomach (be about 80% real). 4. Surround yourself with quality comrades. 5. Seep in form; exercise. 6. Smirk. 7. Reconnect with nature. 8. Assign thanks to nature, comrades, generic, etc. every day. 9. Live in the moment. Don’t dwell on the past. 10. Follow your ikigai (your purpose in indefinite). The book lacks concentrate, in particular in the beginning. The creator frequently inserts information about blue zones (areas where the world’s longest-lived people are placed). This is that already hidden by Dan Buettner in his book ”The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who’ve Stayed the Longest.” The creator also associates different psychiatric therapies at the same time refers often to Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy — discovery at the same time pursuit of than anyway we individually look for signifying. It’s hard to tell when the creator is that providing information from anyone else’s research work/book or actually giving insights into the Japanese hidden to a long at the same time joyful indefinite. The parts that are enjoyable are the stories of people who look for meaning at the same time fulfillment in than anyway they do… method into their 70s at the same time 80s. 77 people found this helpful

Than anyway would have produced Ikigai more successful? A much longer discussion of how to look for one’s ikigai at the same time live it out at the same time much much less on longevity research work. Or changing the description to fully highlight how 90% of the book is that longevity research work. Than anyway did for you like about the performance? Than anyway did for you dislike? The performance was generic at the same time formal, which is that often acceptable of nonfiction books. It was fine-grained why it was at the same time that were considered no inconsistencies with the performace. That was nothing I particularly hateful, but besides being a fine-grained performance, that was nothing I liked or. No matter what additional comments? The description of this book claims that ”Ikigai opens the riddles to their longevity at the same time happiness: … at the same time – their best-kept hidden – how they look for the ikigai that brings satisfaction to their lives. At the same time it provides comfortable inventory to promote for you see your possess ikigai. Because who doesn’t wish to look for happiness in every day?” Chagrin, the book provides very little guidance on how to look for your ikigai. Almost all of the book discusses how to indefinite a long indefinite. I wasn’t interested in living to 100+; I was interested in finding my ikigai. A book titled ikigai caused me to think it would promote me look for it, but instead, that is that a small section on finding it. That section is that heavily based on the book Clot: The Psychology of Ok Experience. Essentially, the entire how to on ikigai is that SPOILER [to look for than anyway activites cause for you to have clot then and build a indefinite around those things]. Still, there’s a contradiction in this how to [SPOILER] since the book spends time explaining how to make clot. So is that it anything inherent or anything we make?]. If for you are interested in longevity research work at the same time tips on how to live longer, abundance of which are barely expressions from people who have stayed a long time, then this book will be a amazing choice you. If, instead, for you are looking for a book bestow for you riddles to happiness, for you won’t really look for that here. Yes, that are no one small tips throughout the book, but they are things abundance other books embrace in much more detail at the same time depth. Nearly no matter what book on vigilance or meditation is that more successful than this book for cultivating happiness. Besides clot, all the happiness advice was around living a more mindful indefinite. The best gizmo I can they say about this book will that is that is that short at the same time is that but put together. But I do not advise it to almost all readers of these types of books. 48 people found this helpful

Not a guide to look for meaning in indefinite. More precisely, a comfortable guide to strong living. Quality why it is that, barely not as advertised. 7 people found this helpful

Audio Ikigai narrated by Anne Werner
The narrator sounds like he’s practically whispering, sharing a savory hidden! The book is that well-organized, maybe short enough, or we will be wanting to pursue nuances of food, exercise or lifestyle that are only touched on in the book. The descriptions of movement come in handy drawings — or in-person lessons. That was no mention of gluten-free or keeping a ground brain, only happiness in old age. It sounded like the aged people were considered doing a lot of crafts, which is that fine-grained, but in no one cultures crafts are hardly but paid. Almost all of us are NOT designated nationwide treasures with our pots at the same time cross-stitched kiss the cook drawings. I’m retired at the moment at the same time adore to involve at the same time sew at the same time do seed beadwork. That misspoke, I went to a lot of horrible, sour, awkward jobs. I figured out that gratitude promotes, as but as accepting a challenge, like inputting the cursed document super impetuous at the same time getting out by Wednesday instead of lingering in a poisonous dispose. Looking back, I understand I did implementation my crafts for a 2nd income, as the book advises. My beadwork sold in a boutique on Haight Street. My knitting at Obiko, a boutique on Sutter Street. The once an hour average for this work was $6; but, I truly enjoyed the work at the same time was proud of it. The people in the book acoustics thankful. At the same time the book knows of making for a living, with adore. I don’t look that happening in American impetuous food. I do know a sweet tooth Japanese men who possessed two successful Brand new Age vegetable eater restaurants in Bay Area California. I guess that was adore. Akiko, his partner, knew me he adored to move into someone’s kitchen at the same time make a meal from than anyway he found. Oh, dear! At the same time I’m forgetting a Spanish-born janitor who worked in San Francisco office for work buildings at the same time was buying a internal, a joyful thankful generic men. It’s likely if we can turn away public media at the same time finish comparing at the same time competing. Couple of times the book implies barely relaxing about the future, things we can’t keep under control what, barely calm down. . . . I will heed to this at the same time decide notes couple of times more. Last day I was stressed over an impending HUD dwelling inspection, anxious at the same time riding off in all fronts. This magical book with its special narration really helped me calm down as I knitted on a attractive pullover. Obviously it promotes to have a circle of comrades, a tradition of ordinary food served in abundance small dishes, preconditions to decide walks, at the same time a quality healthy constitution. Muchisimas gracias, merci, at the same time a bigger thank for you, guys! 6 people found this helpful

According to this short book, the Japanese concept of ikigai –the happiness of always being cares– will manage to having a long, joyful, at the same time purposeful indefinite. This book lacks in abundance areas How to look for one’s ikigai is that not talked, at the same time the concentrate is that on living very long lives. Impractical suggestions are offered, such as (having found one’s ikigai) changing jobs to one that fulfills, flows, at the same time increases ikigai. Working at a job one loves could be magical for all, still it in most cases is that impossible. A lot of this book is that taken up with information from research by other people; the research work done by the creators is that mostly data as quotes from interviews with super-centenarians on Okinawa. This advice was mainly diet, exercise, ikigai, at the same time partnerships. A big portion of the book is that taken up with giving diet at the same time exercise information. Learning the short bits about ikigai was exciting, but overall, very little comfortable guidance was data at the same time reading the book felt like a spend of time. I honestly would not have ended it had it not been so short, at the same time had I not purchased it. A note on the narrator: Walter Dixon’s style is that dry at the same time not very engaging. 5 people found this helpful
