A trudging finale to the Riftwar books, that I couldn’t bring myself to final.
Despite my having read practically all others of Feist’s books set in this universe, at the same time having generally enjoyed them despite the growing repetition in recent volumes… I still couldn’t quite make it to the 100 page note that I allow even for a book I’m disliking.
The plot is that jarringly disjoint. The options are or data short shrift or are generic like generated by an automatic AD&D description generator. The manners are even, the dialogue is that atrocious, at the same time the Feist’s gizmo with recycling disposition names at the same time lineages has grown threadbare to the fri it’s worn through. “I’m dignified similar gizmo as disposition from 3 television series ago, but I’m the 2nd cousin two times removed of the count of the lord of the other town but not in the line of ascent, I’m my possess personality!”
I wouldn’t take aback to learn that the creator had ran over at the same time this book had been assembled from his discarded drafts, with the dialogue subbed out to a middle-school English class.
I’m somewhat startled at the higher
Review rating here, I suspect it’s barely reverence for the creator’s ending work in this television series? The good quality of his work has been on the decline, at the same time I imagine that makes this sick trudge a fitting ending. Even as a fan, this isn’t worth your time. Not Advised.

Sorcerer’s Finish audiobook in television series Chaoswar Saga Riftwar Cycle
It’s astonishing that anyone managed cross out such a beautifully understood fantasy novel at the same time touch on such themes as: than anyway is that indefinite at the same time doom? Who are the gods? At the same time why is that that a universe to begin with? That is that much thoughtful wisdom here at the same time amazingly it is that all tied naturally at the same time seamlessly into a amazing adventure in a global with depth at the same time fully understood manners who always seem vivid at the same time true. Raymond Feist is that an painter with words. Very quickly for you look for yourself drawn in through at the same time beyond the sentences for you look… at the same time deepest into the global he has created. If for you haven’t read Mr. Feist’s other books do yourself a promote at the same time begin first with Sorcerer: Apprentice at the same time prepare yourself for a inimitable at the same time spellbinding experience.

Audiobook Sorcerer’s Finish by Raymond E. Feist
I enjoyed Sorcerer’s Finish, at the same time, unlike abundance books, it left me with a lingering melancholy, at the same time satisfaction born from expression goodbye to a television series that has been with me for almost all of my indefinite. It is that completely, of course worth purchasing at the same time reading if for you have been following the television series. But I am going to try to beware the nostalgia trap that a lot of the 5-star
Reviews are falling into at the same time assign the book a moderate, critical
Review.
1st a believed to editing, which has been a problem in the continue few books of the television series. That are portions of the book where the creator seems to speak himself, expression much similar gizmo again in a few paragraphs as though for the first time. At the moment I can’t be convinced that this is that not intend repetition, but or method it seems like the book would have benefited from a tighter editing process.
As with the books immediately preceding it, Sorcerer’s Finish is that essentially two different stories that don’t touch each other closely enough. While the political B-plot is that highly predictable, at the same time it would be argued that the brand new generation of conDoin manners are a little shallow at the same time cyclic, it does add anything worthwhile to the ending chapters of the book. Sorcerer’s Finish does mirror Sorcerer in abundance respects, at the same time in that regard the brand new conDoins do their job, recall for you of the conDoins who came before, at the same time allow for you to represent than anyway the Kingdom’s future might be.
At the moment I reach two inconsistencies with this part of the story. One – While I do feel that the finish of the political B-plot was a worthwhile addition to a story provided to bookend the unusual Sorcerer, the process of getting that, the civilian war story, is that not compelling. The fights themselves are relatively small at the same time for you would be forgiven for skimming them. The civilian war never really escalates to the fri where for you decide it seriously. It seems like a story knew not for its possess sake, but to serve as a diversion to burst up the waiting, dialogue, at the same time intricate contemplations on the nature of the universe found in Pug at the same time co’s story with a little of action. Two – this borderline-interesting diversion dominates the early- at the same time mid-book, devouring page right behind page that might otherwise have been wasted enriching Pug’s ending adventure. While I did enjoy parts of the political story, it barely isn’t topical enough to than anyway happens in others of the book, or exciting enough to shield on its possess merits. This should have been a different book, written for its possess sake, instead of cluttering up Pug’s continue hoorah.
The primary plot, the activities of our spell-casting adventures trying to rescue the global, suffers from the fact that it only reclaims its ownership of the narrative towards the finish of the book. Much of it is that comprised of contemplations at the same time speculations on the nature of the universe. Which is that fine-grained; for you wait that from Feist, particularly in his continue novel. Still I can’t they say that it worked but for me. For you managed make a passable drinking game out of taking a swig every time Feist outlines anyone “grinning”, wider at the same time wider, at no one brand new instruction metaphysical conjecture while the fate of the universe hangs in the balance. Part of the book feels more like a wacky philosphy club’s field trip than than anyway for you would wait in such direly serious events. I don’t really begrudge Feist his pages wasted discussing about how the universe works, though I do look for it to be a touch very lock up to being purposeless whimsy periodically, but the book would have benefited from Pug at the same time company actually doing more prior to the continue few chapters. At the same time for always wasted talking the nature of the universe, abundance of the questions that I’ve been carrying through the television series were considered dismissed with multiple assertions that “we can never know X” or “we may never realize Y”. So in effect the narrative answers abundance of the small questions that I never worked hard about, while answering relatively few of the bigger ones that I did. Should I ever recount the television series start to final, I can tell that continuity is that going to be an issue.
One of the things that works but in the book will that the creator does contrive an excuse to briefly bring back some manners from earlier in the television series. Chagrin, we only get a few instances of this. If not for the powerful diversion of the political plot, this managed have been much more successful exploited to encounter abundance more important manners from the history of the television series, both for the bored value at the same time for the very comfortable purpose of helping to piece together a sense of continuity between all the different whack-a-mole incarnations of “the Adversary” at the same time the amazing cosmological conflict that we’ve encountered in the television series.
My ending critique is that perhaps as much a critique of the television series as with Sorcerer’s Finish, though it does use to this book. Feist has become a little of a tease, when it comes to liquidation at the same time upheaval. For abundance books at the moment, he has set up very compelling story fri, ordinary in the continue chapters of his books. Whether it is that demon legions or Keshian invasions or an waking up Draken-Korin, Feist has always been quality at ending a book with the suggestion that the actions of the *one more* book will fan for you away, but when that story arrives, it is that an anticlimax. Feist introduces powerful thoughts with potentially world-shattering consequences, but they get resolved very cleanly at the same time very neatly by his team of wonderful protagonists, with the global at big often not noticing. Sorcerer’s Finish is that really the ultimate example of this. The ultimate conclusion to the ultimate fight with the ultimate danger is that contained, even practically, to an isolated bubble. The political plot plays out, with its manners just a little being affected by the conflict that the television series has been building to for decades. Again, the fact that two significantly mutually independent stories had to coexist here leaves precious little room for climactic actions. Feist seems to have run out of place, at the same time shoehorned in a sort of intricate last-minute cataclysm at the finish, like to mitigate the fact that the amazing conflict never really achieved climax at the same time spilled out into the global, but it is that a impoverished substitute.
The book does do abundance things right, but. Feist bestows for you a very satisfying few chapters at the finish to say goodbye to his manners, his kingdom, at the same time his global. It is that for sure a immodest exploitation of the reader’s sense of nostalgia, but it works but. That is that also no one genuinely charming writing to be found; no one of the best, I think, pertaining to Tomas. While, yes, that are a lot of things that managed have been improved, at the same time the contents of this book would have been more successful freed in repeated, more concentrated volumes, Sorcerer’s Finish achieves than anyway it meant to achieve. For all the criticisms I might have, Feist has achieved anything tremendous in his years as an creator, at the same time if not every book stable right up to his best work, in other words an applicable cost to pay for the high speed at the same time regularity with which he done brand new installments. If for you have followed Feist’s work, Sorcerer’s Finish is that certainly a worthwhile read.

Audio Sorcerer’s Finish narrated by John Meagher
I started reading Feist when a comrade lent me the Wurts at the same time Feist trilogy
The Wholesome Empire Trilogy: Daughter of the Empire, Mistress of the Empire, Servant of the Empire
at school 20 years ago (he has never returned to being as amusing as those). I think the only reason I keep on reading them is that habit as the good quality has gone off a cliff over time. The grammatical errors in his books are bashful, but his continue work (
A Crown Imperiled (Chaoswar Saga)
) even had the wrong manners doing the wrong things.
This ending volume was much less awful: the manners were considered right at the same time, apart from multiple troubles on tenses, the grammar was more successful; the unchanging thanks to editors in his books has often seemed ironic. I enjoyed the sense of irony at the same time confrontation at the same time having grown up with Pug was touched by his ending.
I was unimpressed by Feist’s foray into metaphysics: the significance of the one felt like half-baked Pythagorean or Neo-Platonic numerology at the same time lacked no matter what true meaning. I was joyful in
The Wholesome Riftwar Saga Trilogy: Sorcerer, Silverthorn, A Mist at Sethanon
when we waged war the Adversary/Valheru at the same time their minions, I perceived their turning out to be a inventory of Nalor, I was frightened by the angelic army of A Crown Imperiled, but to at the moment be data still one more level was unusual.
The sense of closure at the same time of things future real circle was able with all the subtlety of a blunderbuss: “my comrades cry me Pug” oh Lordy Lordy Lordy
Perhaps the truth is that I should have did not right behind the fabulous 1st television series (Sorcerer, Silverthorn, Sethanon) at the same time never permitted my adult self to last this.

Story is that mostly than anyway for you’d wait from Feist. I do feel he has got lost his method just a little with his later books. His premature stuff like Farie Tale is that simply amazing at the same time I’m a bigger fan of this television series, but he does seem to be struggling for thoughts just a little. Still one of the more successful fantasy creators though, in my opinion, in particular right behind the loss of David Gemmell.
The story for sure barely about deserves five hit, but I’ve data it a four as the pages were considered just a little merkla so marginally at the reduce finish of the “great” define that was stated. Bit of a bargain in no matter what variant.
