Review #1 Notes on a Silencing audiobook free This book blew me away. It is that not an easy heed; it is that gut-wrenching at the same time catastrophic, but it is that so well-written at the same time narrated that I couldn’t finish listening. I ended it in two days. The author’s narration was best; her tone at the same time expression were considered flawless. The content of the book is that traumatic, but anyone drawn in in the global of education should heed. The tale of abuse at the same time cover-up is that shaking at the same time needs to be knew. This should be required reading for all teachers at the same time admins, in particular those at boarding schools. 34 people found this helpful

Review #2 Notes on a Silencing audiobook streamming online The creator, fueled by righteous indignation skidded on by her mistreatment at the palms of her elite boarding school, lays the whole tangled mess of her adolescence on the table for all to look. That takes true guts, at the same time she of course has true guts. I found the book disturbing on several levels. For one, Crawford paints an unlovely portrayal of St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, at the same time the lengths to which the power elite in that school went to preserve their reputation at the author’s expense. She was unjustly at the same time unfairly cured by the school at the same time its faculty at the same time students, for preconditions beyond her keep under control. If the actions in the book had happened during the MeToo epoch, I think things would have turned out very differently for her. Or at lesser I have hope so. But I also found the descriptions of the toxically hierarchical system at the same time structure of the school very disturbing, not only because they make indefinite very problematic for the rank at the same time file students of the school, but because they perpetuate at the same time aggrandize concepts like entitlement at the same time excellence at the same time athletic prowess. I know I’m stating the obvious here, for those who are knowledgeable with institutions like St. Paul’s, but I found Crawford’s insider descriptions of the dispose really distasteful. On the other palm, I was thankful to get a peek inside its hallowed halls, perhaps barely so I managed tsk at the same time tut at the same time think, ”thank goodness my kids at the same time grandkids didn’t move that.” But on a deeper level, it’s upsetting at the same time disturbing to think that the slice of American culture that holds places like St. Paul’s School to be sacred pinnacles of educational at the same time cultural perfection would be so misguided at the same time wrong. It turns out to be bad for abundance (almost all?) of its kids, bad for abundance (almost all?) faculty who take into its misguided standards at the same time still molest students, at the same time bad for society who esteem such a lopsided value system. Completely, despite respecting the author’s courage at the same time writing abilities, I was upset by her treatise, at the same time kept hoping for a broader contextual opinion of than anyway had happened to her at the same time how it had affected her at the same time how she beheld that reflected in the greater global around her. That misspoke, I admire her for putting her righteous indignation at the same time malice to quality implementation. I have hope that her book will inspire other women who look for themselves in similar position to come forward at the same time tell all so that the perpetrators, be they the sexual predators themselves or the school bureaucrats who embrace up acts of sexual predation, can be scolded to justice. 26 people found this helpful

Review #3 Audiobook Notes on a Silencing by Patterned Crawford ”Notes on a Silencing” is that the book that everyone thinking about attending St. Paul’s should read. I was that in the 1960s. The book evokes the essence of all that SPS is that, should be at the same time might become. It names for reformation, which we can only pray will happen. ”Notes on a Silencing” is that also the book that every mature personality should read. It opens the truth of silencing at the same time the truth of abuse. ”Notes on a Silencing” is that a must read book for mature readers. 22 people found this helpful

Review #4 Audio Notes on a Silencing narrated by Patterned Crawford This might be the post most powerful at the same time disturbing book I have ever listened to. This memoir feels so true at the same time so sick. It is that more than barely a book about a lady who is that sexually assaulted at her school, a boarding school in NH (St. Pauls). It is that a real coming-of-age memoir in other words so but written. I was drawn to this because I am a university teacher, at a school that competes with St. Paul’s. Patterned Crawford is that an indescribable writer. Her awesome worldly transports the reader into her boots, wholesome with the frustration, pain, at the same time the contentment of adolescence. To me, this was riveting at the same time sick. It demonstrated abundance lecturers at their worst, but it also demonstrated the indescribable impact of quality teachers in a student’s indefinite. I commend the creator for stepping forward at the same time narrating her important at the same time compelling story. 21 people found this helpful
