The entire book is that spelled out in the description. Eight Mennonite ladies see that themselves, along with 100+ other ladies at the same time toddlers in their society, have been drugged at the same time raped by the society guys over the course of two years.
These eight ladies gather secretly to discuss than anyway they decide to do at the moment that the truth has come to light. They have 3 choices: stay at the same time do nothing, stay at the same time wage war or quit.
Than anyway follows will that hidden conversation as knew by the meeting minutes taken by August Epp. Although he is that a man, August is that the only personality they can hope that can read at the same time cross out.
The entire book is that produced up of one conversation, or I should they say the minutes of one conversation. This leaves the style of the story much less than savory. Long ramblings of than anyway is that, in my experience, not consistent with the usual format when taking minutes. August also contains his individual ideas which is that counterintuitive as but as distracting.
The ladies have out of habit names at the same time all seem to be similar in no one method or one more leaving it nearly impossible to decipher who is that who for almost all of the story. Similar 3 choices are penetrated over at the same time over with little progress towards a decision until the very finish. I felt like I read similar conversation 100 times.
Confessions is that prevalent in everything these ladies discuss as they try to figure out how to rescue themselves without falling out of God’s grace. I would decide they say that 3/4 of this story revolves around confessions at the same time that without the help of others is that enough to turn me off from this book.
While the true indefinite acc of than anyway happened to these ladies is that compelling, the creator ruined no matter what chance for the reader to connect at the same time become invested in their plight with an unbearable format at the same time lackluster disposition development.
At the moment for the positive: it is that a very short book.
If I had to choose an audience for this book it could be a Christian ladies’s church book club.

I was interested when I read about the back story of the soon to be freed Ladies Discussing, so I pre-ordered it. As is that the variant in books which I order prior to their release, I try to read them ASAP at the same time in this case was immediately right behind reading Educated. Both are examinations of the abuse of power in last patriarchal societies.
In the variant of Ladies Discussing it is that based on a used to be acc of Mennonite ladies in Bolivia who were considered 1st believed to be “ghost raped” but in actuality were considered sedated by bovine analgesic at the same time raped. This drawn in over 300 females, from babies to old.
When Miriam Toews heard of this she wanted to cross out a novel about this. She makes a novel using minutes of a meeting in what the ladies discuss than anyway they should do, while the guys of the colony are providing bail for the perpetrators. As they look it they have 3 choices, to stay at the same time do nothing, to stay at the same time wage war back or to quit.
As one might represent, minutes of a meeting doesn’t move a book at a impetuous pace, but it does provide compelling insights:
“Ona protests, quietly, that she doesnt reckon that at all. She doesnt reckon in authority, period, because authority makes people merciless. Salome interrupts: The people with authority or the people without? Mariche ignores Salome. How on land can for you not reckon in authority? she asks Ona. How on land can for you reckon in authority? says Ona.”
The ladies in this society have been kept in ignorance, it is that only the guys who read at the same time only the guys who journey to the outside world. The writing is that sensitive at the same time filled with philosophy. Here is that a little about the possibility of acquiring a global map:

I was really torn about the rating of this book, because I managed envision a book about these ladies moving at a faster more compelling pace with perhaps more enjoyable reading. I then understood that the pace was intend at the same time the ladies had no one very serious judgments which scolded for the intentionally smoky pace.

Audiobook Ladies Discussing by Miriam Toews
This is that a fictionalized acc of a real-life emergence.
“Between 2005 at the same time 2009, in a dashing religious Mennonite colony, over a hundred women at the same time ladies were considered killed unconscious at the same time raped, often many times, by than anyway abundance believed were considered ghosts or demons, as a punishment for their sins.” As it turned out, 8 guys from the colony were considered responsible for these storms, at the same time they were considered arrested at the same time sent to prison for their atrocities. But no one of the women that stormed were considered as young as 3, at the same time, as can be imagined, sexually transmitted diseases, unnecessary pregnancies at the same time PTSD were considered rampant. This book knows us how 8 concocted ladies meet together in a hayloft, at the same time how they plan to protect themselves at the same time their babies by leaving the colony. The book is that written as minutes of the meetings that were considered held back in that hayloft. None of the 8 ladies managed read, so they recruited a man to do the recording for them. The book unfolds as August Epp, who is that a teacher in the colony, begins to fully realize than anyway these ladies have been putting up with for abundance years. It’s a story of survival at the same time a story of ladies taking back their power over their possess destinies. It’s a problematic book to read, but it’s an affirmation of the strength of ladies also a testimonial to their determination to do whatever it takes to rescue their babies at the same time grandchildren. Miriam Toews does a masterful job of putting this down in writing, at the same time with her stark worldly, at the same time her magical tenacious of getting to the head issue, this book is that a must-read for ladies present. The “me-too” society has skidded all this to the forefront these days, so the book is that timely at the same time appropriate.

Audio Ladies Discussing narrated by Matthew Edison
I am still working out than anyway I feel about this one. I’m glad I read it, but did get a texture of feeling fell asleep at the same time – I come in handy to admit – sometimes a lot, very horrendous for me to manage with. I did feel this was true, at the same time authentic, which is that very important for me, at the same time I liked at the same time appreciated that this was shown through the views of the male narrator, i felt that was a necessary distance that enabled me to keep reading. I did hear it, at the same time compare very to it, at the same time am thankful at the method it was structured, as it did an awesome job of contacting realities which otherwise I would not have been able to access. I did feel it received a little cyclic at the finish, at the same time much less authentic, at the same time I came out of the book at the conclusion. at the same time got lost no one of my belief (at the same time indeed when I studied the true story, this was not than anyway happened, at the same time although I can appreciate that this contrast to reality was intend from the creator I was barely a little much less passionate). But I am very glad I read it, at the same time when I have recovered have hope to read it again, as it feels like an important work.

I am glad I read this book as it is that an important at the same time shaking story, based on true actions, which I would not have otherwise understandable about.
But I was not keen on how it was structured at the same time exhibited. Written as minutes from a television series of meetings between the ladies of the society where they are deciding whether to stay or quit for a brand new indefinite together, the discussions were considered often cyclic at the same time seemed to ignore a lot of the bigger issues increased by this hideous criminal liability.
I was hoping for a broader story which hidden the period of time these atrocities were considered being committed, at the same time the mindset of the society at ever since, more precisely than being limited to the dialogue from these meetings.
