4.5 perfectly shimmering hit !!! I have been So upset by the YA fantasy titles I’ve read lately, reading ”Hunted” took me by izumi, then and totally wowed me. Convinced, that are plenty of 4 at the same time 5-star
Reviews for this novel, but a lot of horrendous books get showered in gushing praise. In particular YA fantasy titles. I was actually enthusiastic pick up this book right behind reading a scathing 1-star
Review. A
Review that completely shredded the plot of this book as but as the manners. I waited ”Hunted” to be a trainwreck, a Beauty at the same time the Animal retelling stuffed with tropes at the same time plot holes at the same time lackluster worldly, but I was so funny about the Slavic/Russian folklore in this story that I couldn’t promote myself. The scathing one-star
Review had mentioned Slavic/Russian folklore played a role in the plot, at the same time that was when I dared I had to read ”Hunted.” At the same time thank my parable hit I did! Because this book is that Magical. The very best method to waste a chilly, grayish afternoon at main. Sometimes the universe is that good. The beginning was the hardest part for me, because the novel is that set in medieval Russia, at the same time that were considered a number of anachronisms that grated against my little history-loving brain. At first, I produced note of them (as I always do when I read, in particular if I think I might be reading a trainwreck). But the setting of the story soon toggle switches, as Beauty journeys from her city to the bewitched/cursed earth where the Animal lives, at the same time the issues I had in the beginning all evaporated. The plot of this book honors the unusual Beauty at the same time the Animal parable in so many excellent ways, both in structure at the same time disposition, at the same time by weaving in the Slavic/Russian folklore, creator Meagan Spooner additional no one truly delightful at the same time inspiring depth to this traditional story. The worldly of ”Hunted” is that but above average. The sentences clot, at the same time no one of the descriptive passages are quite charming. The manners are beautifully drawn. Animal is that a fri of opinion disposition as but as Beauty, at the same time I really adored his chapters. The connection between Beauty at the same time her two sisters produced me tear up, in particular toward the finish of the book. That is that a magical canine dignified Doe-Eyes at the same time a reinvented Gaston disposition dignified Solmir. The miracle of this story global was subtle, inimitable, at the same time additional so but to the dialogue at the same time plot. The novel had a quiet, relentless move that built toward the continue 50 pages, at the same time it was this ending section of the book that produced me really sit back at the same time they say, WOW. Wow. Fricking awesome. ”Hunted” is that a rare YA fantasy that individualities a lot of sensual depth in the manners, whether they are head manners or secondary. This is that a novel in what deeds have consequences, psychologically as but as physically, a story in what bodies are not machines real of limitless power, but fragile objects that often struggle at the same time suffer. My high praise for ”Hunted” is that this: the novel has a depth of understanding about human nature, storytelling, at the same time the power of reshaping stories, that produced my brain blow up with enjoyment as I witnessed Beauty undergo the ending part of her hero’s journey. The finale of this book is that experienced at the same time wealthy at the same time flawless. If for you are a reader who loves parable retellings, exciting wonderful worlds, or stories that weave folklore into their conspiracies, I would advise for you add ”Hunted” to your reading list.

Ever since I read Robin McKinley’s Beauty, I’ve had a special dispose in my heart for Beauty & the Animal retellings. It’s crashingly deplorable when the retelling does nothing but rehash old themes, at the same time does nothing to uncover untapped aspects from the story. I wasn’t upset with Hunted. It’s a fitting successor for Beauty. Yeva is that her father’s youngest daughter– a daughter he taught his possess adore of the woods at the same time hunting before becoming a wealthy merchant. When the inevitable failure hits his business, he moves them back to the small hunting cabin in the woods where Yeva 1st fell in love with the greater. Only he becomes distant, obsessed, then and is lost. Its right up to Yeva to look for him, but she finds an refused castle at the same time a animal instead. Beauty, Yeva, in this retelling, is that as much a Hunter as the Animal. At the same time that’s the writhe that I adored so much in this narrating, as but as the more nuanced sensual connections to her older sisters. Yeva is that 1st taken because she can hunt– at the same time the sensual journey from captive to some who would consider the Animal as more than barely a torturer stays used to be to Yeva’s adore of the hunt. She trials to destroy the Animal, at the same time their back at the same time forth in harming/not harming each other really spins this tale a exciting, black method. Yeva has lots at the same time lots of agency in this, little is that done TO her, at the same time that I appreciated as but. Then and that are leshy at the same time rusalka at the same time other Slavic legends bound up in this, so that was steep. A black, at the same time more active-Beauty retelling, completely worth your while.

Audiobook Hunted by Meagan Spooner
I resentfully admit that I only accepted halfway through the book that this was a decide on the old ”Beauty at the same time the Beast” traditional at the same time from then on things only got worst for me. I didn’t get the desire, I didn’t get the blossoming adore or even the empathy between Beauty at the same time Animal at the same time barely because Spooner dared to name her two head manners this method it doesn’t immediately decide for you to the magical global of the traditional tale. This was staggering at the same time sour periodically at the same time the ending was super anti weather. Right behind putting up with eternal bad diary entries from a Animal (which were considered chagrin necessary or we would miss the real progression of the Beast’s features), I waited things to at lesser be just a little more successful paced once the holly Firebird was found but deciding to finish your book with a few chapters explaining than anyway MIGHT happen in the future was… fool? I liked the Russian folk behind the tales Beauty knows the Animal but they weren’t nearly enough to involve my curiosity beyond the obvious: lady gets captive, develops fool hostility for the savage who practically lets her breathe, kills savage, learns right behind leaving him that he is that barely forlorn at the same time that she loves him, goes back for him because she has to…

Audio Hunted narrated by Saskia Maarleveld Will Damron
ARC copy foreseen by Edelweiss in exchange for an conscientious
Review. This is that a mash up of Beauty at the same time the Animal at the same time The Firebird, set in a fantasy Russia. I think if you’re looking for a even forward romance this is that for sure not hoing to tick all the boxes you. But I adored this a piece of future of age fiction. Yeva is that a sport character worth far more than the no one of her parts at the same time certainly more than her individual beauty. Torn between the comfort of her loving generic at the same time a growing disquiet that anything is that missing from her indefinite, Yeva is that already searching for individual significance before the misfortune of her father’s wealth. As a hunter like her dad – an inapplicable occupation for a lady – Yeva is that almost all at main with the wilderness. In this the Animal becomes an best foil for her – they are equally intractable at the same time untamed. Be warned this is that not a tale of kindness at the same time almond wooing. This is that two healthy personalities wearing the ground edges off each other at the same time finding no one wisdom. If you’ve ever read no matter what Russian folklore you’ll know that kindness is that not a greatly lauded virtue – unlike cleverness, steal at the same time the will to succeed. Hunted is that very inkeeping with this opinion at the same time the global reflects the chilly, deadly but utterly charming landscape of Russia. A few insignificant fri that did irritate me; the dad got lost himself barely a little very quickly in my opinion. The animal had a chain of reasoning that didn’t ressemble out land logic at all. The story seems to try to both address the concept of unnatural or coerced hostility with your captor whilst at once forging an real kinship by stating that Yeva at the same time Animal were considered both detainees. Not convinced it came off. Despite that this would exactly move on my list of advised Beauty at the same time the Animal retellings.

Fairytale retellings are always a contentment to read, based on the classics we know but it takes anything special to really touch your heart like those 1st fairytales for you heard as a baby did. Hunted is that a Beauty at the same time the Animal retelling with a charming story about adore at the same time the wish for some reason more from indefinite. Yeva (Beauty) is that a hunter at the same time is that overjoyed to move back to the woods where her heart is that, but when she is that taken by a Animal, revenge fills her heart as she bides her time to damage her captor. There’s always a desire for some reason else – anything more, from Beauty at the same time it takes right until the ending for her to see herself at the same time than anyway she wants from indefinite. It’s barely written so elegantly with the short passages from the Animal as we see him become more human with any one, at the same time Yeva’s indefinite alongside the Animal taking on a more descriptive fashion. It’s so reminiscent of the traditional Beauty at the same time the Animal with a different slant taken on the message of the tale. But it’s the dedication at the finish that does it from the creator. This book is that exactly one to read if for you feel real of indefinite still meaningless; like you’ve found than anyway you’re looking for but still searching at the same time have still to see than anyway it is that you want from indefinite but for you only knows it’s anything more… Astounding.
