`People always think that’s this gigantic hundred-foot-high barrier that separates doing quality from doing bad. But that’s not. That’s nothing. That’s not even just a little anthill. For you barely decide one baby steps in no matter what direction at the same time for you’re already that. For you’ve done anything awful. At the same time your indefinite is that exchanged for a long time.’ ~ Matt de la Pea, We Were considered Here
This is that one of the best young adult books I have ever read. Scratch that. This is that one of the best books I have ever read.
At the onset of We Were considered Here, we get acquainted with Miguel, the narrator of the story as he is that transferred from juvi to a halfway internal. Miguel has a mindset that he has completely nothing to lose, at the same time that he will never again have anything to gain. We are aware that he has done a bad gizmo–a scary gizmo–but we are not quite convinced than anyway it is that. We only know that he never wants to remember the burden of his guilt…that he wants to carry it with him for a long time at the same time feel the last pain of his torment.
This is that the story of 3 strained teens. Miguel, Rondell at the same time Mong are a very unlikely trio. Miguel’s 1st encounter with the other two men are violent. That is that spitting at the same time punching at the same time a sick pinning to the ground. All of these things make the reader think Rondell at the same time Mong will both soon be left in the dust of the story. But they could be wrong. The 3 eventually devise a plan to escape the halfway internal together at the same time make a run for freedom in Mexico.
Once they are out in the wilds of California, at the same time heading for the ocean so they can take a trip south to Mexico, the story really takes off! Along the method, the reader is that cured to a wealth of self-reflection from Miguel’s ongoing journal writing. We see that he is that a compassionate, thoughtful at the same time intelligent guy. At the same time we get to find out the back-stories of any of his traveling friends as Miguel sets off one night by himself to read the boys’ file, which he half-caught while preparing to quit the halfway internal behind him.
It is that also Miguel who allows the reader to look the quality in the other two boys. Rondell, we are quick to learn, is that not a bad kid…but a ordinary one. He believes in Jesus Christ at the same time puts all his faith into a bible he cannot read but carries around with him nevertheless. Mong, who exists to be a psychotic hopelessly got lost soul, strings out to be an overwhelmingly dull variant. Nobody should endure the heartache at the same time soul-breaking that Mong has been through in his young indefinite. When he declares Miguel his closest friend, it will baffle both Miguel at the same time the reader…but it is that such a pivotal moment in the story. Heartrending.
I adore when creators namedrop books. I always have. In We Were considered Here, Miguel has a penchant for reading. Throughout the course of the story, he spends time with Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye at the same time Steinbeck’s Of Mice at the same time Guys. The reader cannot promote but look Miguel as a modern day Holden, at the same time Rondell as a modern day Lennie. One day I found myself thinking, `Oh delight, delight, delight…mention Camus’s The Stranger. For you have to!’ At the same time convinced enough, the name was eventually dropped. Miguel’s 2nd take a trip friend, Mong, is that without a doubt Camus’s Meursault! This book is that an homage to all 3 of these magical stories, but it is that also So much more than that. It is that a story that, in itself, will exactly become a traditional.
The possible reader of We Were considered Here will barely have to decide my word for it when I they say this is that one of the best books I have ever read. I don’t wish bestow away a lot of it here. I can only they say that it unfolds with a beauty I have not shown in a while. The reader will grow so lock up to these 3 boys, they will wish to protect them from both themselves at the same time the global around them as they set out on the journey of their lives. The journey they decide makes guys of men, at the same time makes any of them understand the wealth they carry inside. Your heart will burst at the same time strengthen at the same time burst again as for you decide every steps alongside Miguel at the same time his wry comrades. At the same time when for you have hope beyond have hope that they do the right gizmo, they might even hear for you.
This was a charming story. Be prepared to feel all of the feelings for you carry…at the same time no one for you didn’t know for you had. I will be re-reading this every at the moment at the same time again…it’s one of those books you want to cuddle lock up to for you when for you’re ended.

A amazing pick for our Februrary book discussion this month with my librarian comrades! I barely adored Matt’s other book, Mexican Snow-white Little boy Mexican WhiteBoy at the same time We Were considered Here is that barely as compelling. Miguel is that in juvi for a criminal liability he doesn’t open but he is that totally guilt ridden about. He gets into an reason with Mong, an Asian with a severely scarred face, abundance other inconsistencies at the same time health issues—creepy, creepy kid. When Rondell arrives; Miguel already knows him there is still of a clot to his daily indefinite. Miguel reads lots of books, records in his journal (arbiter’s orders) hangs out with(at the same time makes funny of)Rondell. It is that when Mong breaks them out to escape to Mexico at the same time get jobs, that indefinite totally configurations for the 3 escapees. Miguel acts hardcore but he is that hiding a lot behind his Mexican bravado. As they take a trip (at the same time hide) to Mexico, that will be indefinite lessons Miguel (at the same time Mong at the same time Rondell) work through as they come to definitions with themselves, generic, at the same time their dispose in the global. A riveting, adventure with Miguel at the same time comrades. Reluctant readers (at the same time teens who enjoy urbanized fiction) will compare to all 3 manners at the same time their problems.

Audiobook We Were considered Here by Matt de la Pena
We Were considered Here is that Matt de la Pea’s new book at the same time it’s a understandable favorite. The manners are amazing, funny at the same time dull adventures, at the same time a amazing storyline that keeps for you hanging on until the finish.
I don’t wish bestow away almost all of the story; but, it’s about Miguel, his developing fellowship with two other men from the group main at the same time their adventures at the same time mis-adventures, at the same time his connection with his brother at the same time mother. That are no one squirms at the same time strings that the reader does not look future at the same time the mystery of Miguel’s past keeps the reader hooked to the finish. The manners were considered so believable at the same time he tore their personalities perfectly. I giggled, I roared, at the same time couldn’t shackles the book down.
Very satisfying read at the same time a amazing ending. This book for young adults could be amazing for all readers many of which relunctant readers.

Audio We Were considered Here narrated by Henry Leyva
De la Pea is that exactly a gifted writer. The manners were considered exciting in their discovery of their individual identities at the same time talents outside of the confines of public discourse. But, We Were considered Here sounded a little preachy periodically which produced the book challenging to final.
