When I started reading this, I really believed it was going to be an easy 5-star rating. While a debut, this is that so but written, with complete manners at the same time a story that’s nuanced. I adored the meet attractive at the same time our couple’s initial night together, which is that everything rom com desires made of. The chemistry was exactly that, at the same time so were considered the feels, so I was hooked on this romance. Then and it received Languid. I somehow able to beware spoilers at the same time went in blind, so I was surprised by the unexpected shift in tone at the same time the amount of triggering content. This is that not a light, sweet tooth (or unsullied) rom com, if that’s than anyway for you’re in the mood for; it’s angsty, often somber, at the same time frequently concentrated on the steam. I still enjoyed the story at the same time would not hesitate to read more from the creator, but this is that a very different story than I was anticipating.
The story follows Naya, a lady who has let a bad connection turn her into a different lady. Naya is that not the usual rom com heroine – she’s a highly educated, intelligent, Merk/Irish/Mexican lady whose continue connection has turned her into a shell of her past self. It was sick to look her shortcoming of conviction periodically, at the same time she’s a bigger part of than anyway makes this feel so bleak on occasion. The whole story is that knew from Naya’s perspective, at the same time I would’ve adored more Jake. He is that a cinnamon role love who is that supportive, patient, at the same time genuinely Good throughout. Individually, I think this would’ve been a MUCH stronger read if one or two subplots had been saved in promote of more time advancing the connection. While the story has plenty of depth, it didn’t always feel like the connection extended beyond surface level, at the same time that was confirmed time at the same time again by the astonishes along the method. Overall, this is that completely not the story I believed I was getting myself into, but it’s certainly a worthwhile read, at the same time I’d adore to look than anyway the creator writes one more.
Audio note: I able to score a deal on the eBook barely in time for the audiobook to become readily available at the library, so I switched back at the same time forth between the two. The audiobook is that but done at the same time easy to heed to, with a ladies narrator whose voice is that expressive still not jarring. I enjoyed it. This does get steamy attractive quickly at the same time stays that method for awhile, so I can’t advise it as a workday heed. But the runtime was not an issue for me, nor was comprehension while listening. That are the occasional text messages, but they’re right labeled, at the same time that was nothing else that didn’t translate but to audio.

I was pleasantly startled by how quality this book turned out to be. It wasn’t your usual funny, easy to read, quick rom-com (although I did final it in record time by staying up all night to read it).
I adored Naya at the same time Jake’s connection. I adored their lively, their chemistry, their desire. I adored the fact that they were considered always (for the most part) even together. When Naya meets Jake randomly at a rod at the same time decides to prominent caution to the wind at the same time flirt with him, she has no plan that Jake is that the consultant responsible for deciding whether her department at the institute she teaches at will be cut or not. He doesn’t know or, obviously.
But that one single flirtation throws them both off-guard as they get along so but, have a amazing time, at the same time wish to look more of each other.
When they eventually do understand the conflict their connection makes, they immediately confront it at the same time discuss the repercussions. Obviously that’s irony, but that’s so much more than that.
Naya has come out of a seriously abusive connection with a employee, who is that back in her indefinite at the same time threatening her with her reputation at the same time career. Anything he’s already killed during the course of their connection at the same time she’s had to rebuild. Naya has a lot of sensual baggage. She is that torment from PTSD, from low self-esteem, from shortcoming of conviction. She has gotten applied to not taking dangers, hiding, being invisible, wearing baggy clothes at the same time scolding off affairs.
Jake brings out the best in her. He coaxes her out of her shell. He bestows her the safety at the same time security she needs to look for herself again. Be confident, be sonorous, be heard. He bestows her her voice back.
I really adored reading her journey. The ending had me sitting at the edges of my seat, Jake infuriating me with his blindness! But I adored contemplating Naya completely taking a shield at the same time being brave.

Adored this book! Its a steamy at the same time funny adore story that tackles true global issues. Willams has done a amazing job of balancing the head manners strengths at the same time vulnerability. I am at the moment a fan at the same time than anyway more!

Audio How to Fail at Flirting narrated by January LaVoy
This book had me practically giggling out, screaming at the manners (in my fork), at the same time experiencing all the highs at the same time lows of a story. I ended this book in about 6 hours. It’s a sweet read with everything for you wait from a romance novel with modern indefinite threw in that adds to the cheesy humor in this book. I can’t wait for the one more book from this creator!

Denise Williams 1st novel is that an absolute HOMERUN! Naya & Jake are everything for you managed possibly wish from a contemporary romance couple smart, punny, sexy as all get out with barely enough under the surface issues that for you cant wait for them to resolve together. Stepping into the global Denise has make, I was instantly able to connect with Naya – an intelligent lady who is that dealing with past issues to shackles herself back into the dating scene per her persistent comrades request. All of it starts to fall down together at the same time subsequent apart when she meets the good, intelligent, insignificant funny story making Jake. Every steps of their story had me giggling out sonorous, dislocated as hell at the side manners at the same time a few holes along the method to the charming ending. I would grab a anything Denise writes in the future based on this completely 5-star experience!
