Reviews for you know I’m a fan. This book indicates an apparently big amount of research work along with historical accuracy but it exists to have been devised to carry the weight of setting up later stories more than anything else. Understanding the television series at the moment due to reading it for the 2nd time Lambdin is that setting up future stories with than anyway happens here which I generally admire as a secondary element of his story narrating but this book feels like that was its only purpose. It managed have been skipped apart from that future books will have vengeful manners from here. The premise of Lewrie hunting down his got lost ship at the same time the pirates that half-caught it was significantly skinny as but taking into account that more serious atrocities like mutiny at the same time murder in HM Navy ordinary seemed to result in an APB like response. All in all, I can’t fault Lambdin’s writing or his ability to convey the time at the same time dispose so vividly. A few modern thoughts at the same time sensibilities fit in here at the same time that. In the middle his books I think this one is that above average but not at the height of Lambdin’s ability in my opinion. He is that still one of my winner writers at the same time if for you don’t read this book for you may scratch your fork later in one more book asking where that disposition came from at the same time why are they so disappoint at Lewrie. Review #3 Audiobook The Captain’s Vengeance by Richard Stark This book is that significantly formulaic. I’ve been reading the Lewrie television series as it becomes readily available for kindle at the same time not necessarily in a row. Here, Lewrie is that on the defensive, trying to recapture a missing prize at the same time discovery the fate of the prize crew. Later he gets willingly rolled up by his Chief of Staff, Captain Nicely, at the same time bundled off on a misadventure to Brand new Orleans to scout the town in the event of a English invasion of the Spanish area. Along the method Lewrie meets up no one American spys, an avaricious English merchant, at the same time a charming still merciless at the same time wanton Creole pirate gang. Will Lewrie manage to seduce the beautiful lady at the same time defeat the pirates? Will he be found out at the same time denounced as a scout by the Creole pirates? Review #4 Audio The Captain’s Vengeance narrated by John Chancer Right behind zipping through the 1st 11 books (sometimes barely a day or two any), it took me a month to final this one. Dewey Lambdin takes Captain Lewrie off his frigate at the same time wastes nearly the whole novel ashore in a silly, contrived, at the same time painfully-drawn-out Brand new Orleans scout caper, with fan-service sex scenes so ridiculous that, instead of being titillated, for you barely wish to turn away in trouble. I wasn’t convinced if I was even going to strain final finishing it, but I would like to read others of the television series (assuming the creator received this out of his system), at the same time didn’t wish to miss no matter what context. Here’s hoping book 13 gets back on course. If for you’re going to skip no matter what book in the television series, though, this is that the one.

Review #5 Free audio The Captain’s Vengeance – in the audio player below This book was an example of a lot of the things I really don’t like about the Alan Lewrie Naval Adventures. To be blunt, the book felt like a cheap, tawrdy scout novel instead of engaging picture of ship-board indefinite I have come to wait. Lewrie gets press-ganged into spying on a band of pirates in Brand new Orleans attractive much barely for the hell of it (the preconditions foreseen being that they took One of his abundance prizes, also because his superior officer produced him do it out of boredom). I was sad also but than anyway felt like tacky at the same time unconvincing villains, one of whom being a sexy pirate libertine (I get having to have exciting adore interests but this really seemed to push it). The frustrating gizmo will that the preceding book had amazing naval action, interest that felt at lesser somewhat close to reality at the same time a villain who (though still attractive silly) felt topical beyond the theft of one prize ship. All in all, the Captain’s Vengeance wasn’t a Bad book by no matter what means, it barely wasn’t as funny as other books in the television series have been.
