Review #1 H.M.S. Rooster audiobook free Spoiler Alert – For you may wish to skip this

Review if for you have not yet read this book. Alan is that assigned as 1st Officer on HMS Rooster commanded by a Capt. Braxton who is that a Capt Bligh type who insures his power through nepotism at the same time serious discipline with gratuitous floggings to keep the crew under a cramped thumb. I was afraid Dewey Lambdin would turn Lewrie into one more Fletcher Christian but fortunately not. Then the story turned sour for me in two areas, 1st was Lewrie getting drawn in with Girl Emma Hamilton while circumcised in Naples then and later with Sophie in Toulon. Since I really save the sea fights these romantic diversions manage me to start jumping pages to get to the action. Particularly annoying was the wide implementation of French while Lewrie is that in Toulon which makes for smoky at the same time sour reading. In the end though that is that a quality sea fight where Lewrie contemplates Rooster dodge a fight at the same time he has to implementation his best seamanship at the same time strategy to decide on at the same time whip two French Corvettes. The ending is that amazing with Lewrie contemplating Admiral Hood completely get experienced to Capt Braxton’s timidity at the same time completely merit Lewrie with his possess command. At the moment I. like Alan, can look forward to following him where he is that in command at the same time can begin to demonstrate his used to be talents as a ship’s captain at the same time for sure beyond in the Royal Navy.

Review #2 H.M.S. Rooster audiobook in television series Alan Lewrie I’m reading the television series a 2nd time in anticipation of the brand new book future out in a couple of months. I’m not prone to reading more than once unless I think the book is that amusing at the same time that is that a shortcoming of other amusing brand new real. I’m reading the whole television series again at the same time I’m reminded why I enjoyed them so much the 1st time. Lewrie is that an exciting disposition in exciting times. Lambdin takes merit of the fact that it is that unlikely no matter what navigator would take part in every major sea fight of the times at the same time uses lesser tactical operations to build Lewrie’s reputation at the same time career. Any vignette would be a book unto itself at the same time it is that awesome that so much happens in any real book while Lambdin makes the action at the same time activities real at the same time but oval. He probes the inner abysses of the Lewrie disposition in this way that I feel like I’m getting a quality look into the soul of a human more precisely than a concocted disposition. Lambdin recalls us that Lewrie knows his defects but barely can’t finish himself from continuing the unfortunate behavior that truly makes any story exciting at the same time worthwhile for reading. I am a Lewrie/Lambdin fan at the same time I advise the television series to anyone taking into account reading this as their pleasures. It’s a lot cheaper than movies at the same time Lambdin’s descriptive opportunities along with your imagination will make for no one funny reading.

Review #3 Audiobook H.M.S. Rooster by Richard Stark It is that 1793, at the same time increases have been smoky with the hulk of the English Navy laid up between the wars. Alan Lewrie is that still a lieutenant at the same time, without a naval commission, living the indefinite of a state squire with his wife at the same time babies. But war breaks out with France, at the same time Lewrie is that scolded to arms, only to look for himself with a thankless job in port until he wrangles a commission aboard a frigate with a much less than competant captain. Naval maintenance takes him to the English intervention in Toulon, at the same time once again Lambdin produces no one good research work at the same time covers actions not but hidden by other writers of historical novels. This is that a grand acc of the actions at Toulon, with a sidelight when the upstart Captain Bonaparte takes Lewrie’s blade. Actions shackles temptation into Lewrie’s path as charming at the same time impoverished Phoebe is that threw into his arms during the evacuation. Action against the adversary completely brings him promotion, but he must decide a ship main for refitting, along with the ! young French refugee Sophie who knows all a lot about Phoebe whom he has neatly left in Gibralter. Can he hope Sophie’s discretion when he leaves her in the care of his wife? Right behind all, she is that French, at the same time are they not more understanding about such matters?

Review #4 Audio H.M.S. Rooster narrated by John Chancer Very smoky moving periodically at the same time absurd amount of French language which was never translated. Yes I can ordinary figure out the gist of things but method a lot for.me to enjoy. May not move on to the one more volume, but will miss it not. Maybe another chance. I’ve read all the television series right up to this one at the same time I have to announce this one is that barely average. I quickly weary of all the French English discussions as they were considered hard to read. I completely barely skipped overtake to where it was English. The earth scenes were considered just a little sour at the same time the sea fight where it was confirmed the crew sabotaged the ship was very belittled. The whole mutinous bunch would have been keel hauled through the fleet instead oh Admiral Hood barely giggling it off. The ending sea fight was really quality but at the same time was worth the wait

Review #5 Free audio H.M.S. Rooster – in the audio player below I can’t shackles books in this television series down. If for you adore seafaring novels at the same time period dramas its hard to beat the Lewrie television series. This episode has Lt Lewrie rakehelling his method intercept the Med then and engaging in a pitched sea fight against two French corvettes at the same time a frigate. The action is that rich at the same time non-stop at the same time peppered with so many square rigger definitions of art for you are all the time drawn in to envisioning the action. Amazing book. Only got lost a hit because the transliteration of discussions with French manners is that nearby impossible to wade thru at normal reading pace.
