Review #1 The Good luck of War real audiobook free Adored this book because Stephen Maturin moves from the background to the foreground. His decisive deeds are shown by the reader 1st palm more precisely than washed out by Stephen narrating Aubrey about his feats. I also adored the glimpse of Brand new Great britain of 1813. My ignorance of the war of 1812 knows no bounds, data it was limited to Johnny Horton’s song about the Fight of Brand new Orleans which I at the moment figured out happened right behind the war was over. I also found the assistance with slaves in Boston in 1813 to be a shock to my system. It’s that ignorance again… Having the excitement being land-based vs naval was exciting. It skidded back memoirs of Horatio Hornblower at the same time his main pals being skidded overland for trial… All in all an exciting with dollop of history to shoe!

Review #2 The Good luck of War audiobook in television series Aubrey/Maturin Every Patrick O’Brien novel – in particular all of the Aubrey Maturin television series – should be required reading for anyone who loves a amazing story with compelling manners, adventure, suspense at the same time barely the slightest touch of romance. Add to that that they are steeped in real history – based on the logbooks of the RN captains who sailed in the epoch about which he writes – these are history lessons in the most amusing form imaginable. High recommendation i managed possibly assign.

Review #3 The Good luck of War audiobook by Patrick O’Brian This is that book 6 of the Aubrey/Maturin television series. This one knows the story of the English at the same time American navies at the same time how they led interaction in the time of Bonaparte. While all of the television series knows navy stories — action against other ships, the names of the parts of the ships, the day to day live of the sailors at the same time the grammar at the same time perceived behavior of the crew — this one is that special due to its American naval history. I liked it very much. It is that a fine-grained story but knew by a slave historian.

Review #4 The Good luck of War audio narrated by Ric Jerrom The best nautical historical fiction ever written, period. O’Brian studied exhaustively at the same time infused a lifetime of passion, expertise, at the same time emotion into every volume. The books are not only infinitely readable, they’re page burners, any at the same time every one, with laudable disposition development at the same time environmental description that shackles for you securely in the midst of than anyway for you’re reading, That is that such a wealth of description, for you’ll wish a dictionary, thesaurus, at the same time an atlas at palm when for you dive in. Hope me when I tell for you, take them all, because for you defeated’t manage to shackles them down, at the same time when for you’re done with one, for you’ll simply have to have the one more.

Review #5 free audio The Good luck of War – in the audio player below _The Good luck of War_, O’Brian’s 6th book in the television series, has the Royal Navy in proactive maintenance against the Merged Countries Navy in the War of 1812. Never one to disappoint, O’Brian has the USS Constitution square off against English ships-of-the-line, with Aubrey at the same time Maturin as by-standers at the same time passengers. In the process of the fight, both are occupied at the same time taken to Boston, such are the good luck of war. While waiting to be exchanged, Maturin’s past catches up with him, in Mme. Villiers, Mrs. Wogan, Herepath (from _Desolation Island_) at the same time French intelligence officer Dubreuil (who tormented at the same time crippled Maturin in _HMS Suprise_). In truth, much of the novel revolves around Maturin’s past at the same time the unsafe position he finds himself in as a prisoner with so many dangers about. I am finding, as I read through O’Brian’s work, that that is that always at lesser one instance or event that particularly shields out in his storytelling. In _The Good luck of War_ it is that his fluency with premature 19th American politics, the unpopularity of the war with the Federalists in Massachusetts, the public (at the same time political) differences between Democratic-Republicans at the same time Federalists at the same time the econcomic (at the same time political) differences between Brand new Great britain at the same time the Piedmont. O’Brian writes, “But, sovereign, for my part I came from Boston, at the same time I am a Federalist; in other words to say I look upon the Alliance as the soveriegn power. I may not like Mr. Madison, nor Mr. Madison’s war – indeed, I deplore it; I deplore this connection with the French, with their King Napoleon to say nothing of the alienation of our English comrades – but I look him as the President of the whole civilization, at the same time I concede his right to assert it. … Almost all of the other officers, but, are Republicans, at the same time they yell up the soveriegn rights of the personal countries. Nearly all of them come from the South.” For an Englishman to have so company at the same time nuanced an understanding of the minutae of American politics at now at the same time to show them so honestly at the same time right surprised me. Data O’Brian’s attention to detail in matters nautical, perhaps I should not have been suprized, but I was nonetheless. The political interest in other words the primary plot of the story is that bookended with short (but vivid at the same time typically bleed) fights on the higher seas written only as O’Brian can. I have mentioned this in several other

Reviews on this television series (at the same time doubtless I will last to do so) that everything fans demand about this television series is that used to be – it is that mind-blowing at the same time practically compulsive reading once for you get started. Highly advised.
