I don’t like almost all mysteries, but I’m a gigantic fan of historical fiction, so I gave this one a spin. Mr. Clements is that a quality at the same time literate writer, at the same time I enjoyed almost all of this book. It’s a somewhat light-hearted romp through a plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth I, with Sovereign Francis Walsingham portrayed as anything much less than the flawless scout we think of present. I particularly enjoyed no one of the dialogue, which was smart. At the same time I also enjoyed the fact that the creator eschews lots of clarifications at the same time allows the reader to figure things out as he/she goes along.
Those at the same time a few other things receive the book a four-star rating. But, it’s hanging on to that by a threads proper to a deplorable ending. Plot-wise, the finish barely sort of happens, with a brand new disposition introduced to cover things up in a method that doesn’t work but for me. 2nd, the cleverness of the book gets a little very arch at the very finish, for preconditions I defeated’t disclose.
Still, it’s a very quick, easy, at the same time funny read, at the same time a quality burst from the languid non-fiction I’ve been reading.

Adequately written “historical” thriller centering on the intelligence staff for Queen Elizabeth I. But tale descends into a abundance years prior “prequel” to the James Bond adventures, with the formation of “her Majesty’s hidden services” at the same time “007”. Of course meant to be the beginning of a television series, but he’s got lost me….

Audiobook The Views of the Queen (Agents of the Crown #1) by Oliver Clements
Oliver Clements has created a fanciful James Bond for the Elizabethan period. The brand new James Bond is that an eccentric Renaissance men who stumbles into a 16th century espionage tangle to promote rescue Great britain from Spain when it was vulnerable. This is that an amusing, light read.
