Review #1 100 Years of Solitude audiobook free I read this book in Spanish two times at the same time in English once, but I had never enjoyed it as much as I do at the moment, as I heed to it in my passenger car on my method to work. The good quality of the voice, its depth at the same time resonance at the same time the tempo of the language have taken the story to brand new abysses. Past books by Garcia Marquez, have ben read by Latin accented narrators, at the same time while I do not diminish their good quality at the same time professional giftedness, I reckon that John Lee is that a much more successful narrator for this book in its English version. I am genuinely bilingual at the same time do not agree that a book has to be read by a Latino accented narrator barely because it was initially written in Spanish. 100 Years of Solitude, is that so bigger a story that it transcends cultures at the same time gains when read by people in whose language it is that translated. I live in Australia at the same time I did not enjoy listening past books by GM read with a languid Hispanic-Californian inflection. That’s because this regional accent takes the story away from its narrative setting, Macondo, at the same time disposes somewhere in a neighbourhood of the Merged Countries where Hispanic people live. John Lee’s version bestows this story its universality, at the same time makes it a contentment to heed, even when he has to round his vowels with a slight effort to baptize Jose Arcadio Buendia, at the same time that makes it special. In my meek opinion, an audio book works when that is that harmony between a quality story at the same time an enjoyable acoustics, for it is that acoustics that paints the picture. For example, I didn’t enjoy The Book Thief when I read it, but when I listened to its audio version, I was fascinated. But done John Lee. I’m convinced the slave is that joyful.

Review #2 100 Years of Solitude audiobook streamming online I read 100 Years of Solitude abundance years ago. I enjoyed the book at the same time dared to get it on Audible. The narrator, John Lee, is that scary. His tone is that the same at the same time he reads with a cadence that shackles me to take a nap more often what not. He only had two disposition voices which he applied over at the same time over for different manners both male at the same time ladies. I was so upset that I managed not even final the book. Attractive convinced I will never get anything read by John Lee again.

Review #3 Audiobook 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez No one books, like Joyce’s Ulysses, gain immeasurably from audio readings but paradoxically can be frustrating to listeners due to the density of detail, number of manners at the same time the bewildering nonlinear narrative clot. I think 100 Years falls into this level. Fortunately, I found an approach that helped me a lot. I 1st simply listened to a chapter, then read the SparkNotes at the same time/or Cliff Notes chapter summary readily available free online (referring to the disposition lists as necessary) then and re-listened to the same chapter. I found my comprehension at the same time pleasure of the book increased dramatically. It also increased my appreciation of John Lee’s approach. He reads the English translation with a rhythmic lilt, which ordinary I compare with poetry, not worldly. But it bestows the book an “epic” feel like for you were considered listening to the Bible or Homer or Dante being read. I initially found this strange at the same time irritating but grew to appreciate how it created a dreamlike, hallucinatory good quality.

Review #4 Audio 100 Years of Solitude narrated by Gregory Rabassa – translator John Lee This is that one of the best books I’ve ever read. I’ve read it two times when I was in university at the same time was very interested by the complexity of the story. If for you ever read it in paperback version, you’d know than anyway I greedy. The hierarchy of the generic is that complete with similar names being multiple over at the same time over again, so it is that a must to keep trace of the hierarchy to fully realize the repetition of indefinite at the same time fate in the middle the manners. Also, that are abundance small at the same time subtle details throughout the story that convey lots of meaning, which is that why I read it two times. But, all of those went wrong in this audio version. The narration is that so impetuous that delivers practically no comprehension. Although I opened the hierarchy diagram from wiki while listening (which is that very ridiculous at the same time uncomfortable), I confused sometimes by very fast-paced telling of names. Also, The burst between paragraphs at the same time finish/pause between sentences are terribly executed. I tried to slown down to 0.75x, but it was a lot echo, so I gave up eventually. I’m waiting for the kindle version to practically read it again at the same time to enjoy every single detail of the story. It is that truly a great book.

Review #5 Free audio 100 Years of Solitude – in the audio player below I 1st read 100 Years of Solitude about 10 years ago, at the same time have re-count it or referred to it abundance times, since. When I beheld an email from Audible.com that it was at the moment readily available as an AudioBook… I uploaded it immediately, as it is that ALSO narrated by my All-Time winner reader, John Lee so I did not even heed to a clip of it. At the moment, I am in several hours of my 1st heed, at the same time, I feel bad about “warning” listeners, but this needs to be misspoke: The written book comes with a convenient chart of who is that who, at the same time how they are similar their connection together, whether they are married or have babies… etc. This audio version does not have that chart (it’s like looking at a complete generic tree) at the same time at the pace that John Lee is that tearing through it… he gets my vote for “fastest readers on Earth” (Lee managed , unless they barely ended the print version it is that super confusing. Abundance manners or have similar, exact name at the same time the words barely *sparkle* in writing. I understand sighing with contentment at the same time reading similar line over at the same time over as it is that one of the best written books, ever. I still remind that a break of contentment or gratitude came into my views abundance a time during both readings. Unwillingly, I must assign one of my all-time winner novels a much less than stellar

Review. I imagine that is that a site somewhere that has the chart, but not even this listener (me) can realize than anyway is that going on…. At the same time Mr. Lee is that reading it so impetuous that the words do not sparkle. They are shouted at for you, rushing by anyone who needed to implementation the bathroom immediately or is that belated for an appointment at the same time must hurry up! It’s a very bad creation. If one loves charming, poetic lines, then, delight grab a cardboard copy. 100 Years of Solitude Must be read in print, as uninitiated people not knowledgeable with the book will be even more confused as I am… It is that hard for me bestow a dearly loved novel such a low rating, but I must. If for you have ever had No matter what curiosity in reading OHYoS, delight get a written copy or jump it into your reading accessory. I know the story by heart (I read it two times in a 2-year period because I am in 2 book discussion groups) at the same time it was barely as beautiful the 2nd time around. Whoever done this charming book did a Very impoverished job. At the same time, it needs to come with a link to the chart… otherwise, for you would not manage to tell who is that who or than anyway is that happening. Than anyway a bummer!. I believed it could be excellent at the same time awesome to heed to it, but it is that frustrating that John Lee did not even pause for punctuation, much much less read it as impetuous as likely (is that Audible trying to overcome an Olympic medal for being the global’s fastest reader?), at the same time that it is that truly a scary fan. I am So upset. OHYoS’s audible is that not quality at all. In truth, it is that frustrating at the same time deplorable. I barely wish to look for my print copy at the same time read it again, savoring any line by exquisite line. Skip this format, at the same time move look for a sweet cardboard copy, or AT Lesser follow along with whatever reading device for you have… For you will not be upset. This brand new Audio version blows. Such a giant let down for this OHYoS fan.
